Alli update-6 week reeval by
Donna Metler
We had our 6 week reassessment (1 week gestational age). Except for feeding
(where she still has some sucking problems, due supposedly to "oral
coordination), she's meeting milestones and is on-target. She's actually
ahead of her gestational age when it comes to things like visual tracking
and...

Almost "labour" by
camandshane
I woke up yesterday and went straight into contractions 2 mins apart
for 10 - 15 seconds. A couple of hours later they were about 30
seconds long and still consistant.
Then I sat down for an early lunch and they fizzled out to nothing :(
Oh boy is that frustrating!!
Oh well - Shane is now...

Almost 37w update by
Ilse Witch
My visit schedule has changed from fridays to tuesdays, so I had another
check-up today. I was a bit surprised that I made it, since late last week
there were definite signs of contractions. Nothing regular, only at night,
but enough to keep me awake. Switching my daily dosage of minerals...

Almost 39 weeks & starting to fret... (kind of ranting -- sorry) by
Carlye
Well, I'm at 38 weeks and 4 days now. Although I am posting less and
less, I am avidly reading MKP -constantly- (probably much to the
dismay of my boss and professors). Always appreciating the random
rant or sentiment I can relate to, as well as the little snippits of
information I would never...

Almost 40 weeks, can go to 41 by
Pologirl
I'm still pregnant. Imagine that!
Still being seen at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston,
USA, by the high risk (maternal fetal medicine) group. They are very
thorough, and not at all anxiety-prone. I spent hours over the weekend
researching the question of how to distinguish...

almost 5 months pp by
Anne Rogers
Time flies! I'm loving being a mum of 2, very little sign of any postnatal
depression, there were a couple of blips in August and we put my medication
up a little, we reviewed it with the psychiatrist and the plan is to stay on
that amount until Ada's first birthday and then if all seems fine to...

Almost human by

I haven't coughed since I started the codeine last night. My rib feels
markedly better--only "gets" me when I'm moving much, and then, it's
tolerable. Baby's still kicking away--persistant little thing. Sort of
annoyed that the doc didn't give me codeine a week ago, but at least this
way we...

Almost in the home stretch :) by
Taulmaril
I'm due next week Yay! Just got my bassinet this weekend but I'm pretty sure
the little guy won't be put down long enough to use it :) Got my car
seat/stroller combo, swing, and bouncy chair. I'm not going to worry too
much about decorating the nursery until a couple weeks after he arrives
since...

Almost there? by
Rivka W
I'll be 39 weeks on Sunday. For the past several days I've been having
intermittent crampy feelings low in my belly - not necessarily always
associated with contractions, although it's still hard for me to tell
that I'm having a Braxton-Hicks contraction without a lot of
comparative poking and...

Almost totally OT by

What's a fever blister? I've heard then mentioned by American posters but
have never heard of them. I got little blisters all over my fingers in early
pregnancy is that what it is?
Thanks

alpha fetoprotein test - is this a crucial test? by
oregonchick
My ob casually asked me as I was preparing to leave my last appt if I wanted
to have this test done. I had never heard of it before, and I asked her to
explain. She mentioned it was to find out if the baby was at risk of spinal
cord problems, but didn't really elaborate. She seemed busy and...

Alright, I think I might be feeling pregnant now... by
xkatx
I've thrown up now 4 times in the last 5 days or so...
First time, I was standing outside in the parking lot... DH was hooking some
stuff up in the car and I started coughing and threw up... Might be TMI,
buuut... I blamed getting sick on coughing.
Second time, 2 days later, similar experience...

Also add me to the calendar... (longish, m/c mention) by
Karen
Karen, due April 24 with number 2.
I was pregnant earlier this year, but miscarried at 8 weeks, just after
we started telling people, so this time we decided to wait a bit longer
to make sure everything was progressing. I am 13+ weeks now and feeling
well other than being rather tired earlier in...

Alternatives for labor pain relief?? Epidural Question by

I was reading the thread about epidural or not....I am just getting used to
being pregnant with my first and so I am still reading a lot and trying to
educate myself on it. I never have particularly wanted an epidural...I had a
spinal tap once and it was awful. Stay away from my back, ugh.....I...

alternatives to 100% breastfeeding by

OK, I hate to say this, but practically everything I read on this ng
about breastfeeding is actually turning me away from it. (perhaps it's
good that I read all of this *before* diving into the situation, so I
thank everyone, even though this is probably not the reaction that some
of you would...
