Whittlestone by
CY
I have tried it. As a person who is a salesperson for breastpumps, and who
sees lots of mamas coming in to try pumps, YMMV on whether or not this pump
works for you. In general we find that women who have never pumped before
like this pump better and get better production that the PIS. However,...

OK, I know this is way out of line, but you are the biggest bunch of people
I know so can I pretty please with sugar on top ask you a professional

If not, please disregard this message!

The solids question again! by
CY
Man, this seems to be a common theme around here lately...so I am now really
wondering if DS truly does want to try some solids. On Anne's suggestion, I
gave him some cucumber for his poor teeth and he LOVES it. Actually sucks
the juice out of it, he's also sucking water out of the washcloth in...

Update to : Worried about DD by
CY
Well, looks like the mystery is solved...
Apparently, on the previous urinalysis, there WAS a bacteria found that they
assumed was a contaminant because it is not commonly found in the bladder.
This bacteria was "Pseudomonas aeruginosa", which I'm told is what causes
pneumonia. The doc has...

Opinions please, re NIP (long) by
CY
I was at our local YMCA today and in the pool when my 1 yr old son became
hungry. My daughter was having a swimming lesson at the time and I didn't
want to leave the pool to nurse him, because she was having a stressful
lesson today.
I sat on the steps into the pool, pulled up my nursing bathing...

Nothing new, but nice to see a mainstream news article on it. Although, one
part irked me...
Child-rearing experts have long pointed to the benefits of breast-feeding.
But critics say the new...

OT; Dental work advice please by
CY
My DD (4yo) needs some dental work done. She has 4 molars with cavities,
and in one of them she needs what they are calling a "baby root canal",
although it's apparently not really a root canal but a pulpectomy (sp?).
Anyway, after having a traumatic time at the dentist I have been using (not...

Very odd question by
CY
It occured to me this evening that I want to write a Living Will. It sounds
silly but I have a shockingly bad headache with nausea and I always gets
scared that I will get hospitalized and my daughter won't be able to get to
me. It's just a headache, but sometimes I panic!!
Anyway, I wondered if...

Meds question by
CY
I have hurt my back (I think picking up my 27 lb angel!) and went to the dr.
today who says it's either a pulled muscle, trapped nerve or a disc that's
slipped! Could've figured that out myself...but anyway. I have Hales and
it says that the Vicodin she has prescribed me is L3. However she did...

CTTS: Sesame Street by

DD and I were sitting watching Sesame Street and "Super Grover" was having
cape trouble, ultimately resulting in him falling from the sky. MY DD is
suitably sad for Grover. Afterwards, as Maria is giving him a comforting
motherly hug, she looks at Grover and says "Milk Na-Na" (boobie juice,...

DD slept 9 hours straight!! by
CY
I am so happy! DD is 23 months and has only slept through the night about 3
or 4 times ever. We have been trying to get her a little more scheduled and
were waking her up at 7am every day and letting her sleep no more than an
hour for nap so that she goes to bed at a reasonable time and now she...

Rhythm Method question (x-posted mkp/mkb) by
CY
I am breastfeeding my almost 2 yr old daughter (though, obviously, by now
she's not exclusively bf'd) and I have a quick question for those of you who
are more familiar with the Rhythm Method of Birth Control than I probably
am!
AFAIK, you can conceive for only 72 hours per month. Usually around...

Cholesterol meds compatible w/bf'ing by
CY
I have just learned that my cholesterol is high (250, yikes) and I have been
given 3 months to do diet modifications and exercise to lower it. The doc
wants me to go on medication but I need to know which ones are compatible
with breastfeeding. Anyone?
TIA.
