I am experiencing horrid pain in my hips and low down towards my pubic bone

So much for second children coming sooner by
Emily
DS was born at 39w1d. I'm now 39w1d, and no signs
of labor. *sigh*. Big, and tired, and sick of
swollen hands and feet and ready to trade in this set
of discomforts for the next!

not safe to leave baby in capsule or pram? by
Linda
I've just read in a book (and of course because it's in a book it MUST be
true) that you should never leave a baby unattended in a capsule that you've
brought in from the car, or in a pram as their head can tip forwards and
their airways become blocked. I would have thought the whole point...

39w OB visit/NST by
Emily
Just got back from my weekly OB visit and NST. Had to
wait around a bit, since a couple of people needed the NST
machines. But, as I kept telling folks there, my calendar
is clear, so it's not like I was in a rush.
The baby has been relatively quiet the past few days, but
he was active today and...

Dear Forum Members,
Most people in the alternative healthcare field have heard of
radionics, yet few understand what that discipline is actually about.
When we discover the truth behind this fascinating subject, it quickly
appears to be much more than we originally imagined.
Radionics is a method...

accupuncture to reverse position?? by
Linda
A massage therapist told me the other day that apparantley if the baby is
the wrong way round there is a particular pressure point used in
accupuncture which turns the baby around naturally ready to deliver. Of
course I'm nowhere near being ready for that (not due for months yet), but I
just...

I'm an aunt by
[email protected]
Just popping in. I posted a while back about my SIL having
preeclampsia. She has been on bed rest for about 6 weeks. Things seemed
to be going fairly well (with the exception of being in the hospital
for about a day due to low amniotic fluid). Her doctor actually said he
thought she might make it...

Boys to men minus dad
Single mothers can raise boys just fine -- and maybe even better than
families with moms and dads, psychology professor and gender scholar
Peggy Drexler says in a new book.

AD: Birth Story Diaries online store by
Emily
Hi Elfanie,
I looked at the store and it looks good. My only
suggestion would be to add some links from the
"professional services" page to descriptions/samples
of your work. That way, if someone hits the store
first, they can see what you do. Also, would anyone
really purchase doula services...

Sharing a room? by

Hi! Just looking for feedback from others who have experience in this
realm...
We just found out that baby #2 is going to be a girl, and we have a 28
month old son. What have been other people's experience having siblings
of opposite sex share rooms, and up to what age? We live in a small...

Retirement by
Chookie
Time for me to head off, I think. DS2 is just over 3 months old and I'm
having trouble keeping up with all my groups!
I'll be in mkb and mk if anyone wants to ask about eclampsia or PE.
Best wishes to you all!

cervix and proprioception by
Emily
Hi folks,
Just some reflections as I wait out these last days/weeks.
First, one of my favorite "factoids": there is a sixth sense,
called "proprioception", which is our sense of where our
own bodies are and what we're doing. But, it doesn't seem
to extend to every body part. Most pertinently...
