What the heck's going on? (TMI) by Chotii
I had the Essure procedure done when baby G was 6 weeks old, and the followup dye study (hysterosalpingogram) showed my tubes to be well and truly closed off: none of the dye got down my tubes even though the tech injected a large amount of dye into my uterus and inflated it at some pressure. So,...

lymphangioma by Luna
I'm wondering if any of the parents here have had any experience with this. My 4 month old son was diagnosed with a lymphangioma last week and we will have a consult with a specialist this week. The lump is near his shoulder blade, about 2-3 cm in diameter, rubbery, and does not seem to bother...

Re-intro by Kereru
Hello all, I used to read and post here when I was pregnant with DS2 now 4 months old. I hang around misc.kids a bit and I like misc.kids.breastfeeding but I've switched to formula now. Anyway I came back here to post about Todd Gastaldo and noticed there are quite a few new Mums here so I thought...

Hospital Fun and Games Rant by Chookie
Due to my eclampsia after DS was born, I am going to go to the nearest Big Hospital for the birth of No 2. My antenatal care is, however, being handled locally, at the hospital where I had DS, adn there is a big notice on the front of my folder about my care arrangements This has suited me very...

Unfortunately I've been suffering yet more pain, the weekend was reasonably ok, but after been woken at 5.30 this morning by DS I went to the toilet and after I lay back down the lower abdomnial pain came on with a vengeance. I didn't want to tell my DH as he has been feeling quite stressed...

dealing with bleeding... by Vicky Bilaniuk
Did anyone else get the advice to massage their bellies to deal with bleeding? It really works! You have to press fairly hard, though, and make sure that you rub the uterus. Whenever I feel gushing, I do this and it really seems to make it stop. Just thought I would share.

Micaela's Birth Story (VERY LONG!) by Nic H
On Friday, August 20th we got to the hospital around 11am and booked in for my induction. I wasn't due until 3 days after that, but with the concerns I was having it made it a fairly easy decision to induce, I had *quite* a short labour with my first born for a start. I was told being induced...

cough suppressants by Anonymama
Are any nighttime cough suppressants safe to take while pregnant? (I can check with a nurse by phone, but I've found it works best if I call with a specific brand rather than asking them for a list.) I've had a terrible cough the last few nights and fantasize about the bottle of codeine cough syrup...
