Resources for Sleep Advice by
Usenet Fan
First, thanks to those who gave me advice on getting some milk frozen
in anticipation of returning to work. I've set up the pump in the
nursery and I have been finding a few minutes here and there while DS
naps or DH plays with him, to pump some, and get some stored up.
My new question is...

EBM on the go by
Nancy P
When my baby arrives, we're planning on DH becoming a SAHD. I'll be pumping
again, and while I have no questions on how to handle and store and heat EBM
while he's at home, I'm wondering what will happen when he has to go out. I
imagine he'll be taking my older DD to storytime and playgroups,...

update on being asked to nurse elsewhere by
Corrie
Hi again everyone,
Thanks again for all your notes about my being asked to move to the
back of a store while nursing. A little detective work showed me that
the woman who asked me to move was actually the store manager. I
figured under those circumstances, writing the manager wouldn't do me
any...

Other parenting boards by
Mum of Two
Do many of you post/read elsewhere except here? I noticed La Leche League
International has a new bulletin board feature, but honestly I haven't spent
a lot of time on there. There are a lot of leaders and experienced
breastfeeders, and you're preaching to the choir there - or at least there...

Article on weaning by
Shannon
I found this article on weaning in a local "Parents and Kids" online paper.
http://www.townonline.com/parentsandkids/news/news/pak_feapkweanaug07252003.htm.
I was surprised at how open-minded it was, and generally okay with the idea
of child-led weaning. With the thread about weaning that just...

Another way to breastfeed by
Rob and Laura
Izabella thinks she found a new way to breastfeed! She now thinks that her
baby cabbage patch doll's outie belly button is a nipple and so she starts
to now suck on that thinking shes going to get some milk out of there. She
smacks her lips and goes MMMmmmm.

whats on your fenugreek bottle? by
azure
Hi all,
I take "Nature's Own", the only brand I've found fenugreek in capsule form.
The blurb says it's
"an expectorant, .. helping to eliminate excess mucous, assisting in getting
relief from the symptoms of hayfever, sinusitis, catarrh and colds ... helps
maintain a healthy skin through a...

Medical Abstracts re Intro of Solids? by
Belphoebe
My DS will be 6 months old in a couple of weeks, and DH is jonesing to
introduce solids. He claims it's DS who is anxious to start, but my
perception is that he grabs at everything--whether it's a computer mouse, a
pair of glasses, a toy, a telephone, or a plate of food. I haven't noticed
any...

Why doesn't DD sleep? :) by
Legbuh
DD is about 6.5 weeks old. She's never really slept much during the
day. She seems to take 1 or 2 30 minute naps, but other times when you
can tell she's tired she won't fall asleep and likes to just cry.
Moving her around, changing posistions, etc helps a little, but once
shes settled she cries...

Answers to Ted's Questions???? by
CountryJay
Solids and feeding:
What should be the consitency of solids at this age for a toothlessbaby?
Should it be runny so that it doesn't stay on top of yourfinger? Or can it
be less runny so that you can pick a bit with your finger? I'll make it
perfectly smooth. No chunks or anything.Until a week ago,...

can't find link: bottle feeding the breastfed pls help by
Dagny
There was a link posted here, I'm pretty sure this is where I found it. It
was about how to bottle feed your baby when you want him to be able to
return to the breast easily or switch back and forth between bottle and
breast. It had a picture of the baby being fed upright. I think it was
more of...

Hi,
You mentioned you have two special needs kids, one with Aspergers and one
with apraxia. If I can be so nosy as to ask how old the child with apraxia
is and if he/she is talking? My nephew is 2 1/2 and still not talking--he
is in speech and occupational therapy--but his therapists mentioned...

DS refusing to eat by
Notchalk
Does anyone have experience with a BF 15 month old who won't eat much
food? He picks at stuff and will eat a bit of what he normally eats,
but no where near the miniscule amount he usually has. Yup, we try
finger foods, spooning it in, TV, everything.
He never ate much in the first place, but...

How soon can you express breast milk? by
Sheryl
Hi all,
I am new here, I have a 16 day old daughter who I have been breastfeeding
since birth. My question is how soon can I start to express breast milk so
that I can leave the feeding responsibilities to my husband so I can catch
up on my sleep and run errands etc?
Thanks for your help.
