Growth spurt or just stress? by
Phoebe & Allyson
Caterpillar had a no good, horrible, very bad day today.
Woke up around 8:30, nursed on both sides, got changed, into
the carseat, off to have her ears checked (she can hear!).
Big poopy diaper around 10am, right on schedule; didn't want
to nurse after (unusual -- she usually eats every 2...

Back from La Leche conference by
Jenrose
Well, I just spent most of last week at the La Leche League international
conference in San Francisco.
I did not go to any classes as I was helping Maya Wrap debut the MamaBaby
sling I designed. But it was incredibly fun! So many nursing mamas, so many
slings.... I got a Zolowear sling, which...

annoyed question for other aolers by
JoelnCaryn
There are *no* threads about Circe/Barbara anywhere to be found in my
newsgroups until the post from her today announcing her return home from the
hospital. None from Angela. None from Grandma Katie. Aaargh.
I didn't want to be on AOL in the first place as I'm used to better software
(long...

so impressed with an aquaintance! by
Suellen
Hi all,
I have a friend I play volleyball with who went through alot of miscarriages
and treatments to get pregnant. Well, on her last try, she did get
pregnant, and the pregnancy went flawlessly until the little baby was born
premature 2 months. Healthwise, the baby is great. Only problem is...

Real Simple Magazine - simplify your life by NOT breastfeeding! by
Naomi Pardue
On another breastfeeding board they are saying that this months issue of
Real Simple magazine has an article on simplifying your life, and NOT
breastfeeding is one of the suggestions. Does anyone get this magazine?
If this is true, they should be ashamed of themselves.
This was discussed in...

5 week old by
Christopher Vitek
My wife and I just had our first child, who is now 5 weeks old. She seems
to be extremely fussy during the day - she will cry unless she is being
cuddled and walked, and she will usually fall asleep after about 20 to 30
minutes of walking, but then she only sleeps for about 1/2 hour, before...

Barbara (Circe) is out of ICU (xpost) by
Truffles
******Re-post from misc.kids******
Barbara was moved from the makeshift overflow ICU at Grossmont
Hospital (it's really their surgical recovery room) to a regular
hospital room after midnight last night. She is disconnected from all
the tubes, IVs, etc. and is able to be up and around. I came...

growth spurt going on a long time by
Anne Rogers
My son is 6 weeks old today. He was a little early (37+4) and small (5lb
13oz), after he had got over his jaundice he fed frequently, every 2 hours
or more often. He ate even more than this between 10 days and 2 weeks,
presumably the first growth spurt, then over the next three weeks he
started to...

Nursing while sleeping by
Phoebe & Allyson
Well, I tried nursing Caterpillar lying down. Neither one
of us were very satisfied with it, but I'm not sure how much
of that was novelty, and how much was inherent to the setup.
Do any of these things change / get better / go away with
practice?

Expressing colostrum before birth? by
Karen
Dawn wrote:
But again, what about all the tandem nursers who nurse thru a pregnancy and
dont deliver early?
True, true.....but tandem nursing is still not mechanical manipulation and or
overstimulation, it is stimulation that the body has grown used to. Then again
I am just a Mom not an expert.

So here's my official announcement. by
H Schinske
Congratulations!
I predict that you will find one newborn delightfully easy after dealing with
two!

Yup, it was for us! Except there's that weird feeling of feeding the baby,
putting it to bed, and then looking around thinking "When's the other one going
to wake up?" And there just...

My backache is a whole different thing. Every day I get up with a sore

Help with sucking. by

Alena can latch just fine. I've had her do it a number of times.
However, when she's on the breast, she won't suck. We know she can suck
because *grrr* the nurses gave her a bottle and she downed it just fine.
They want to take out her NG tube, and the only way they'll do that is...

Question about period after child--while nursing by
Spanannie
I finally got my period after almost 22 mos without it, on July 4. Prior to
pgcy, it had been fairly heavy, very painful, and lasted around 7 days.
This---that seemed to be a period to me---was so light, not hardly painful,
and lasted 3 days. Was this not a period and something else? Or is...

another poop question by
K.B.
My 2 month old has a very watery poop. It's like liquid. He has always been
this way. I was told to stay away from dairy but it isn't helping. He is
only breastfed.
Any thoughts?
