Where does Dr. Hale get the funding for his research? by
DeliciousTruffles
I know that Dr. Thomas Hale is a Professor of Pediatrics at the Texas
Tech University School of Medicine and he researches Breastfeeding
Pharmacology. But where does he get the funding for his research? Does
anyone know if the drug companies fund his research?

Weaning by

I am trying to wean my DD after 20 months of a wonderful bfing relationship
but I need my body back and wonder what is the best way to go?
We are at the end of a whole day but I am dreading putting her to sleep and
the night as she feeds five times throughout. This morning she screaming

breastfeeding question by
zolw
Hi;
I am a first timer. I am due July 31st. I plan to breast feed, but my
nipples are so sore that I wonder how painful is it going to be for a
baby to suckle on them? They hurt when I touch them (& I am real gentle).
Is breastfeeding painful? How long before I would get used to it? & of
course...

formula vs breast milk by
[email protected]
Ok, obviously breast milk is better ;) My doctor has said that
after 6 months the quality of breast milk goes down dramatically
and breast feeding moms should supplement with a bottle of formula
every day.
If we don't supplement with some formula we should give our DS some
vitamin...

Those growth charts by
Cheryl S.
Jaden had his 6-month check up two days ago. He's gone from 15 # 12 oz
at 4-months-and-10-days to 16 # 14 oz at 6 months. Until this check
he'd always been at the 75th percentile for weight, now he's 50th.
Naturally it brought comment from the nurse practitioner. (I know, I
keep saying I'll...

Distressed by
momof3
I stupidly switched to formula thinking I could have more time to get
things done. I sincerely regret it. I formula fed my first two.
Breastfeeding my third. It was the greatest bond I could ever imagine.
How do I get my supply back? Does anyone know? I want to cry just
thinking that I screwed up...

Irritating interaction with a doc today, breastfeeding by
H Schinske
Angela wrote:
During the course of questions, he looks at her teeth. He asks me if she's
weaned yet.
"No, no", I said, "she'll wean herself."
"Oh", he said, "my kids did that when they were about eight months old."
I've found that some people don't even get the concept of a child...

weird sleep pattern by
[email protected]
My son sleeps in a crib and is 10 months old. He'll need
about 2 feedings a night. I understand why he cries when
he needs a feeding. He's saying "Mommy, come get me I'm
hungry!".
But sometimes he'll just let out a wallop and start crying
for no reason at all (well..no apparent reason to...

Two years!!! by
Sarajoyo
As of today, I've officially been nursing for two years! My little
sweetheart is two today! Two years ago I was in labor, and this
morning she woke me up by snuggling up to me and saying, "Mommy, nurse
Laura Anne please." I had always planned to nurse for at least a
year, and then a vague "as...

FAO Larry McMahan by

Hi Larry I noticed in a thread below that you mentioned a protective
relationship between breastfeeding and leukemia. Do you have a reference for
that? I'm not trying to disagree just interested to find out more :-)
Thanks

His co-worker's daughter and her husband were there with her newly turned

Leaving my DS: Need reassurance by

G'day
I know I don't post much these days, but now I really need you guys for
reassurance, encouragement, I don't know what. Sorry, this could get
long and will probably be incoherent. I'm pretty tired.
Last week my mum was in a car accident home in Australia. She's ok but
