AFP and Genetic Counseling by
Auntie Bubbles
Well, I had my appointment this morning with the genetic counselor and she
went over the results of my AFP screening test with me. The numbers showed
that according to the levels in my blood, I have double the chance of
someone my age (39) having a Down's syndrome child.
At this point I can't get...

Finger biting in teething 10-mos old by
Julie
We've been trying to wean our 10-mos. old boy off the pacifier by not
putting him to bed with it. He's teething up a storm these days and has
gotten into the habit of chewing on the nails on his index fingers: not the
bottom of the fingernail at the fingertip, but the TOP of the nail near...

Sign for the front door by
Daye
Hello all...
I am already thinking about when the baby comes home. I already know
that I want to spend most of the first few days with just me, DH, DD
and the new baby. I also know that friends and family will be excited
about the new baby, and they will want to come and see the baby. I am
all...

Emotionally drained and need help by
Heather
Hello All...
I am 25 years old and for the past year and 1/2 my husband and I have
been (lightly) trying to conceive. It has been frustrating, however,
because believe it or not, I only have my period about three times a
year. I test for ovulation, and it's postitive, but for some reason
for a...

Safe Asthma Treatment by
Jenrose
This is only sort of OT, since the reason I'm particularly excited about is
that we will ttc next spring...
The past few weeks, I've been having a terrible time with my asthma. I'd
gone from rarely needing a puff on a rescue inhaler to using it almost every
day, sometimes twice a day, even though...

Vitamin B6- taking longterm? by
Jill
Is it safe to take 50mg of vitamin B6, 3-4 times daily throughout an entire
pregnancy? This doesn't eliminate nausea but it does help noticeably. I know
it is safe to take as the OBs recommend it 3-4 times a day as needed for
nausea..........but, is it safe not as-needed, but just continued 3-4...

Cat litterbox solution? (not really OT) by
Jill
Hopefully this isn't too off-topic...my husband and I have a cat, and live
in a 3 bedroom/2 full bath home. When my cat moved in we couldn't find a
better location for her litter box because she scatters litter everywhere,
so we currently don't use out spare bathroom which is tiny...we have...

When should they start going to Nursery? by
Mom2B
I will *need* to go back to work around 4 months after the baby is born. (I
will initially go back 4 days a week until my baby is about 12 months old,
and my MIL has offered to look after the baby during the 4 days I'm at
work).
Although my MIL could provide basic and safe care (changing, feeding...

Beware of evil baby thieves! by
Adam Ben Nalois
Evil baby thieves can appear out of nowhere , they will cut open your
belly with a chainsaw and steal the baby and disappear !
This happens every day, somewhere and nobody can stop them !
So better wear a steel plate mail to protect your baby from evil baby
thieves and better carry a sword, an...

Hmm, jag tror by
Gregory
Hmm, jag tror inte försäkringsbolagen betalar ut pengar om det finns ett
sätt för dem att slippa undan.
Näää tror du DET?!?!
Ca 80% av alla USA medborgarena kör runt sverige utan gällande
körkort.
Do you usually take statistics out of your own ass??

Depressed :( by
Zucca4
This past weekend I began running a temp which averaged about 102.7 and hit as
high as 103.8 a few times. I had terrible, violent shakes and chills. Called
my OB as I suspected my tear might be infected. Knew it wasn't mastitis as my
breasts were not painful.
Doctor and I went through all the...

Okay, the update you all have been waiting for is here!
First of all, Dr H told me today that I have had bronchitis (not "just a
sore throat" that the ER doctor told me.)
But I know, you're waiting on the BIG news. My Beta came back for Saturday,
it was at 187. They drew more blood today (I'll...

Questions: Sleep, and hot tubs by
Naomi Rivkis
I haven't slept for more than four hours in a night for the last week.
Usually it's closer to two. Actually, I'm not sure why I'm saying 'a
night' since I don't sleep at all at night; I fall down when utterly
drained sometime midafternoon for a couple of hours. I don't know what
to do about this....

What do you reckon??? (m/c mentioned) by
A&G&K
Hmmmm,
I was so sure AF was starting after a tiny bit of spotting on Tuesday (29
days since the D&C) ... guess I jumped the gun as there's been nothing
since. The bleeding from the D&C had stopped 3 weeks previously so I'm sure
its not still from that. I also showed all the typical fertility...

Will I know when the babys head is "engaged" by
Mom2B
I'm 35 weeks into my pregnancy. Will I "know" when/if the baby's head is
engaged? Will I feel anything in particular when this happens?
Also if the baby's head is engaged - can it become un-engaged?

The waiting is the hardest part... by

Only 13 more days to go (or, perhaps one more day, or perhaps 22 more
days). My wife is extremely uncomfortable. What did some of you do to
pass the time in the last few weeks?
