Fight with a friend by
AlenasMom
Yesterday I was at the dress fitting for my friend's wedding. One of her
bride's maids is really uptight and "socially correct" about everything.
All the dresses are being custom made, and when we were talking about how
my bodice will lace up the front, she asked why. I told her it was because
I'll...

Ok, we need a good one ;) by
badgirl
I'm notcing alot of problems being posted. I don't have any advice
really, but maybe a little bit of inspiration.
Nicolas will be 19 months on the 21st. It's been long and hard and sometimes
lately I feel like I'm ready to be done...but when it comes down to it I
know he isn't so I keep going. I...

Need help with giving my son a bottle of EBM. by
Jennifer
Hello,
I am a lurker who has a question that I hope you can help me. My son was
born on September 30 and he has been breast fed since he was born (except
for one bottle of formula in the hospital). At around 4 weeks of age, we
(my husband and I) started trying to give him a bottle of EBM. He...

Storing milk flat in freezer? by
Kathy
I was wondering if anyone here has tried laying the Gerber
pre-sterilized zipper bags flat in the freezer, rather than standing
them up.
I only need a small amount in the freezer...right now I have about 6
bags standing up in there in a row and they are taking up a lot of
space. It occured to me...

Popped in for two questions by
Melissa Reynolds
Hello all!
Violet is 6 months old! Wow! I have two questions for everyone. I
have frozen stored BM that has been in my kitchen freezer for 3 - 5
months. Does it go bad? When I thawed some out it smells yucky, but
not disgusting. Anyhow, Violet has only tried a bottle of BM with
little...

How do I fix this? by
Melissa
I have what looks like a blister on the tip of my nipple. It hurts really
badly most of the times, but nearly brings me to tears when DD nurses on
that breast.
What can I do? I'm going to make an appointment with an LC tomorrow (it's
Wednesday night now) but would love to hear from someone with a...

Wednesday Depression (Rant) by
Alison
Yes I know it's Thursday but my server wasn't playing ball yesterday.
Wednesdays depress me cos I go along to a b/f support group where lots of
mums get together and chat about stuff - no sleep, not enough milk, waking
through the night etc. Like a live mkb but nothing like a live mkb. A
midwife...

Caterpillar's 6mo wbv by
Phoebe & Allyson
Caterpillar is well.
She weighs 16 pounds, 14 ounces (7.7kg), is 28.5" tall
(72cm), and has a 43.5cm head. Her weight has dropped to
the 50th percentile (from 75th), but she's still off the
charts for height and 75th percentile for head. What a tall
skinny girl we have. :)
After 2.5 weeks with...

Alcohol shrinks brain & no stroke benefits by

Alcohol shrinks brain & no stroke benefits
An interesting study found that low to moderate drinking may cause a loss of
brain tissue in middle-age people. The researchers also found that such
alcohol consumption does not lower the risk of a stroke, contradicting
findings from previous...

What do you reckon??? (m/c mentioned) by
A&G&K
I posted this message to mkp earlier today, but thought I'd ask people here
for an opinion also .....
Hmmmm,
I was so sure AF was starting after a tiny bit of spotting on Tuesday (29
days since the D&C) ... guess I jumped the gun as there's been nothing
since. The bleeding from the D&C had...

wellbutrin by
Sharon
Anyone here try wellbutrin while nursing? The literature with the
prescription says it is excreted in breastmilk and blah blah adverse effects
to the baby. I'm nervous about this! Anyone? Bueller?

Help needed - vomiting baby!! by
Ellie
Hi everyone
For the last two evenings my DD has nursed - really well as usual - and then
10 - 15 minutes after she's finished has thrown up amounts that I wouldn't
believe possible in such a small body!! I don't know if I'm right but I've
noticed that each time she has been nursing on my right...

EBM freezing and storing by
K-K ~Glass Boobs~
My first Q is:
When do you pump Breast milk? I don't want to mess up my supply, i.e. making
too much... and I don't want to pump prior to nursing, what do I do?
second Q:
Can I store the breast milk in Lunch/freezer ziploc bags? are they sterile?
any advice would be appreciated
thanks.

Best way to freeze milk by
Bach
What is your advice on freezing milk....ARE freezer bags the best way
to go? What about storing them in plastic bottles? I'm already
pumping into a bottle as it is. DS won't take a bottle, but I am
thinking for when he is ready for solids, it would be nice to have
milk handy for mixing. It...

What can I take for a sore back by
Sue
I would say Motrin. Ibuprofen (motrin) helps with muscular pain and reduces
swelling.

Q's from a nervous Mom...crying at breast, spitting up, etc... by
Kathy
I have several questions today that I hope you all can help me with
(you've always been a big help in the past)...
For the past couple of days, DD (3 months old, exclusively BF) has been
crying at my right breast. She starts out fine on that side, but all of
a sudden her face will get red, her...

the opposite of everyone else's sleep problem by

Last night, my 11.5 week old dd slept from 9:00 to 7:00 this am. And I got
HER up to eat. I confess I slept until then. I believe that the last couple
of nights she has been sleeping way more at night because her naps have gone
to hell in a handbasket. She eats great all day, it seems to me. She...
