Irrational Number
I work in a computer lab with five men. I was
sort of worried about pumping at work, but today,
my first day back, was totally awesome! I had
scouted around the office, but there's really
no place to pump. Bathroom is out, no offices
I can use. The lab is completely wide open,
except for some...

nipple cracking by
Katie
Hi,
I have a 4 month old baby - exclusively breastfed with no troubles until the
last few weeks.
I keep getting cracks around the base of the nipple - they look like curved
papercuts. I'm trying to be really careful with latching but it keeps
reopening. Pumping and feeding expressed milk does...

Prescription name for relactating? by
Christina
"Lina" wrote
What is the name of the drug commonly used to help a mother re-lactate?
Domperidone, perhaps? I've heard of Reglan, too, but I know that Domperidone
is available here in Cda and not in the US.

Answers to Ted's Questions???? by

Solids and feeding:
What should be the consitency of solids at this age for a toothlessbaby?
Should it be runny so that it doesn't stay on top of yourfinger? Or can it
be less runny so that you can pick a bit with your finger? I'll make it
perfectly smooth. No chunks or anything.Until a week ago,...

Hale's look-up: [HB] Drugs and Nursing by
Larry McMahan
Anyone here know about the following drugs while nursing:
neurontin = gabapentin (bipolar) - an anti convulsant
sonata - not sure of the real name - but it's in the class of 'hypnotics'
Wellbutrin - depression
I looked them up in The Nursing Mother's Companion, and there is little to no
info...

FAO DGoree by
Sue
We had a discussion the other day about how I felt the words "it doesn't
last forever" is condescending and it wasn't helpful at all to the mom.
I was reading a post from Wendy J the other day and she is frustrated and
tired at how often her baby is nursing. She is looking for support and/or
ideas...

Medela Lactina piston question by
ted
The piston in my lactina accessory kit is making grinding noises for
the past week. I checked to see if there's anything wrong. Obviously
there is, but I didn't quite figure out what it is. How long do these
kits last? I've used this for about 100 times. Is it time to get
another one?
I remember...

Pump -n- Dump question by
Lisa Besko
I'm just curious about how all that works.
If your advised to pump and dump for a certain number of hours after a
drug is taken can you just not nurse or do you actually need to pump and
dump to get it out of your breast milk. Does Breastmilk cycle through
on it own.
My son usually only nurses...

It is totally normal for your baby to have stranger anxiety regardless if

Feeding Questions (Nursing) & Vent by
Wendy J.
Hi,
Ok, don't get me wrong here ... I love nursing but it is starting to
drive me nuts :-) Dd is feeding about 10-12 times between 8am and
8:30pm. Is this normal? For the past couple of months she has been
doing this. I keep telling myself that she is feeding so much because
she sleeps...

sick of pumping, and stash is almost gone by
Sara-anne
Since DD was about a month old, I have been pumping almost every day.
When I was on maternity leave, I pumped after her morning feeding. I
continued that on the days I was home with her even after I went back
to work, until she was about 9 months. At work, I have been pumping
several times a day....

Which Baby Bath do you use? (if any) by

For Izabella I use a bath ring that goes in the tub. Its so great I love
getting in the bath with her and watch her play. Her bath ring has toys

"My mother groaned, my father wept ... by
Tiina Kartovaara
.... into the dangerous world I leapt;
Helpless, naked, piping loud,
Like a fiend hid in a cloud.
Struggling in my father's hands,
Striving against my swaddling-bands,
Bound and weary, I thought best
To sulk upon my mother's breast."

Babies and blankets..... by

I always heard that blankets are a suffocation hazard but then winter is

Dh says we have to tuck her in. I am afraid of her suffocating herself at
night with the blanket.....
Is it still the norm not to use blankets for babies (DD is 6 1/2 months...
