No AF at 14 months - but wanting to TTC #2 - any advice? by Cathy
Hi all, I know this is not really unusual, but at 14 months I still have no AF. Until 2 months ago I thought it was a bonus - now I am not so sure. DD is on solids full on - somedays I don't know where she puts it all! And she generally nurses 3 times a day, although lately the lunchtime one has...

i guess this is a bit of a vent. last time i tried to have a cup of tea was at 10 mths & DS still couldn't handle the caffeine in my breastmilk and was bouncing off the walls. i thought i would be ok at 18 mths, but i tried a cup of tea yesterday morning and still no luck. not as bad, but still...

Nice comment while grocery shopping by Cheryl S.
The woman working at the deli counter was admiring Jaden, making the usual comments, then asked if he is bf'd. I was surprised for a second since it seemed kind of a personal question but proudly answered yes. Then she said, "I knew he was, because he has such beautiful skin". Made my day....

nice stranger reaction by elizabeth emerald
DS is 18 mths & i don't breastfeed in public all too often nowadays, but recently i have been getting lots of strange looks when doing it. doesn't bother me, water off a duck's back & all. but yesterday in weight watchers, i needed to breastfeed DS, so i did. i looked up & saw a woman, from the age...

Are we okay? by Kathy
Seems like I'm always posting here asking if what we're going through at a particular point in time is "normal"... Our DD will be 6 months on the 15th. She is exclusively BF. We have NOT started her on solids of any kind yet, but plan to at the 6 month mark, provided she seems ready. She sleeps...

negative press - help in writing a letter to the editor by A&G&K
A letter appeared in our local paper this week, describing the "lack of manners" and "indecent exposure" that a bf woman and bub displayed in a local furniture store (apparently the woman's crime was to bf her bub on a chair that was for sale in view of everyone and let "the baby hang from...

Question about baby poops... by Usenet Fan
I posted recently about green poops. I called the ped about it and they asked me if it was diarrhea. This may be a naive question, but since breastmilk stool is so loose anyway, how is diarrhea different? BTW, the ped thinks DS is just processing a virus, and told us to check in again next week....

Emma is orange! by mitch
She's nine months in a couple of days. We started solids just before Christmas and at around the same time she started to become jaundice. It comes and goes throughout the day. She went to the pead last week and they took some blood (which I made a fast exit for and left DH to deal with it) and...

x-post: what would/did you do differently with subsequent children? by Karen
With #2 becoming imminent, I'm trying to think if there is anything I/we did with ds that I would like to NOT do with #2. I'd love to hear anyone else's things they did do or would do differently. I can think of two big ones for me. The first thing that comes to mind is a habit I let ds get into,...

Hi all - Just wanted to add another post thanking this group for all its vicarious support. Little Ellie just turned 1 on the first, and we're still nursing as strong as ever. When I think back that my original goal was to simply go 3 months (I had wanted to get back on my cholesterol...
