Pumping at work: washing the pump? by Jose
I have a question that is probably a bit silly: I have just started back at work and I will be pumping/expressing for my six and a half month old daughter. So far I have just been back a half day (4 hours) and just pumped once and that worked fine. But on the day after tomorrow (Wed.) I will have...

Two things... by Shunaari
1-) My son is two months old and last night my mother fed him half a mashed up banana mixed up with some milk. I said no to her - but she went on about how many children she has raised and that she did it to us when we where just 1 month old. This is worrying me as I think my son will get an upset...

9 month wbv by Phoebe & Allyson
Our pediatrician's office called yesterday, to remind us of an appointment we weren't aware we'd made - apparently the ditzy receptionist had her March calendar open when we were making an April appointment. (We'd shifted scheduling so Caterpillar could get her osteopathic manipulation at the...

Question about baby taking Antibiotic by Carol Ann
I found a bit of what appears to be mucous in Morgan's diaper and in her vaginal area. Could the antibiotics have given her a yeast infection as they sometimes do to us? ~Carol Ann Oh, for those interested, I took Robuttusin and feel AWESOME now!

hypernursing question by Rachel
My DD, 5.5 mos, has been nursing like crazy for the past few days. She has always nursed frequently (every 2-2.5 hrs during the day, 4 hrs at night), but now she's nursing every 2 hours more or less around the clock and for long periods of time. She's really sucking - not dozing at the breast and...

One year today! by Alpha
We've been breastfeeding for one year today! Yay! Today I was thinking about how in the hospital, there was a short period where it looked for all the world like Quinn was going the way his brother went -- growing disinterest in the breast before the milk came in. (In Eamon's case, it led to...

baby hair barrettes by V.
OK, Madeline's hair is now long enough to be getting in her eyes, but not long enough to really stay back when brushed. She's only 8 months, but had a few inches of hair when she was born. I bought some "baby" size barrettes, and then realized that she could choke on them if they came out....

Q about mastitis by A&G&K
no, not me .... My best friend has just had a bad bout of mastitis and is trying to get her supply back to normal without risking engorgement. (Her DD is roughly 12 weeks old ... but very small as she was 5 weeks premmie and with IUGR). My friend isn't a big eater (thin as a rake) and so hasn't...

Too late to correct a bad latch? by ted
When is it too late to correct a bad latch? My 4 mo old dd doesn't nurse like she means it. She's a snacker and she's not interested in nursing at all. She think it's playing and she looks at me and smiles. Someone on this group suggested I call IBCLC to see if they can help. I was wondering if...

Hi-- I have a few questions about pumping with my Avent Isis and occasionally feeding by bottle... My daughter is 23 days old today. I am a stay at home Mom and am exclusively breastfeeding, which is going well. I would like to be able to pump and freeze a small stash of breastmilk, which would...

Scheduling Feedings and sleep by Sapphire Spiral
For the past month my DD has been stretching out her day feedings. Along with this she has been waking and feeding more at night. She has been waking every 2 to 3 hours. At some point I know that she will start sleeping through the night again, but I was wondering if part of the problem is that...

Now I'm getting nervous -daycare starts on Monday by cjra
And DD still won't take a bottle! A friend managed to get her to take 5 mls on saturday. We've tried once since then (were travelling Monday and she had her shots today). We've been trying - tho not daily - since she was 6 weeks old and she's 11 weeks now. She just refuses. She DID take a bottle...

Didn't realise pumping would be such a Pain! by cjra
I pumped for 3 weeks while DD was in hospital so doing it is not a big deal. And I work in an office, normal office hours with a door which locks and a kitchen w/sink to wash things, so surely it should be no problem. AND, I work for the health dept which is pushing a big BF awareness campaign at...

domperidone and fenugreek forever? by KC
My dd is 8 weeks now. We had a slow start (which mirrored the troubles I had with my first dd), but with the help of fenugreek and domperidone we have made it this far. I also still eat oatmeal 2x a day. I also took blessed thistle inititially, but cut it out with no ill effects to my milk...

Naomi is here... and I am late by Stephanie and Tim
in posting this. I have to be quick though. She was born on 9/20 and weighed 7lbs and 14oz. She is adorable; she looks a lot like her brother did when he was a baby. She nursed successfully after delivery. And has been a champ in that department since. We had a couple of rocky minutes after she had...

need encourgement/advice by Lmv
Im hoping some one here can help me. My baby is 13 weeks old and has only been breastfeed. I work full time, I can not scale back my hours and I can not get to my baby at all during the day to nurse. She is now drinking 22OZ of EBM per day and there is no way I can pump that much. I have taken...
