Sensitive gag reflex? by
Chookie
I'm introducing DS2 to solids, but he's a bit different to DS1, except in that
their first solids were grass! Thought I'd forego the rice cereal, as DS1 ate
so little of it.
Things DS2 HAS eaten:
grass
paper
a small 'Made in China' sticker
a little skin and flesh from a raw potato

Birth Story of Sophie Jade by
Sarah
Finally got round to writing up the full birth story of Sophie Jade (for
anyone's that interested!).
She'll be 6 weeks old on Monday and all is going well. Her big sister
(who's 2 and a half) has adapated so well and we're so proud of her.
I'm feeling pretty good, considering the sleep...

infant vitamin supplements by
V.
At our 2 month checkup, the pediatrician recommended that we start giving
her a multivitamin. Actually, she recommended vitamin D supplementation b/c
we live in Maine, don't go outdoors right now unless completely bundled, and
Madi is quite fair skinned. She also said that she recommends giving...

Drooling 8 week old by
Brookben
My DD is drooling... she started just the other day, not all the time,
but most. Could she be teething? She has been slightly more fussy, but
I assumed it was something I ate.
Also, the right side of her face is slightly more puffy than the left.
I noticed this today - it could have been like...

don't read if you dislike blood by
Anne Rogers
no cracked nipple, no pain, basically no reason to be suspicious, pump as
need milk for baby tomorrow, stimulate let down, do about 10 long strokes,
arrggghh, blood everywhere, bottle contains 2oz of bright red liquid. Now
I've trickled blood into pumped milk before and it has been pink,...

How to prevent thrush? by
concrtslt
My 2 month old DS has an ear infection and is now on antibiotics. I want to
make sure I do everything I can to prevent thrush while he is on the
antibiotics. Any tips? I started eating yogurt, but that was all I could
think of.

nipple has turned black by
Anne Rogers
this is really not good, the swollen nipple is now less swollen, but has
turned black on one side, don't know what to do at all, do I go to the
doctors, now, or tomorrow, do I feed, or not feed and if I don't should I
not pump and chance it, just to leave that poor nipple alone?

Extraordinary Breastfeeding

Everyone knows that breast is best, but for how long? Is
it OK for toddlers to pull up their mothers' shirts and ask for 'mummy
milk'? What about feeding a four-year-old?...

I woke up this morning with a very painful and throbbing right breast. But
no hardness, lump, or redness. Throughout the day, I have started to feel
much worse. Now I have a fever of 102. I still am pumping and bf'ing on
the right side, and it is soft and pliable, still not hot or red, still...

Question about baby taking Antibiotic by
Carol Ann
I found a bit of what appears to be mucous in Morgan's diaper and in her
vaginal area.
Could the antibiotics have given her a yeast infection as they sometimes do
to us?
~Carol Ann
Oh, for those interested, I took Robuttusin and feel AWESOME now!

Why in God's name won't she sleep? by
Amy
I feel like I'm being forced to take part in a sleep-deprivation
experiment.
Yesterday, DD's naps got all screwed up because we were out during the
day, and she just refuses to sleep under any circumstances that are the
slightest bit off her routine, so she napped from roughly 3 until 7,
then was...

baby poo by

Does anyone know why my 7.5 month old son would have increased his poos

no new foods, and it has only been the last 2 days. 6 month needles
were this morning, so unrelated.
He has also started to *scream* with nappy changes...

nipple, again! by
Anne Rogers
I'm really quite concerned about it, the swelling is much reduced and the
blackness has faded, I've been able to have a bit more of a feel, pain
permitting and there seems to be a hard lump, which I'm fairly sure isn't at
all related to milk ducts, as there is no swelling or anything further...
