Blood pressure question... by
Jill
I know at my last check, my blood pressure was up a bit..higher than it has
ever been for me it was something like 130/85 or 132/85...I am sure the
bottom was 85, can't remember exactly what the top was but I know it was
lower 130s. I am normally 110/60, very consistently. I am not having...

Prenatal vitamins and iron by
JennP
Let's just say the iron isn't agreeing with me. I tend to be prone to such
lovely issues as hemmeroids and fissures so this is something I really want
to try to avoid.
I plan to ask at my appt. on Wednesday, but for those of you who have
trouble tolerating extra iron, how did you deal with it? I...

36 week appt. by
Karen
At my OB/Midwife/birth center practice, 36 weeks is a big milestone,
with both a medical appointment and a birth plan/paperwork appointment
at the birth home.
Medical appointment with the midwife and her apprentice was great. Dh
held ds while the midwife took ds' hands and pressed them into my...

Conception date question by
[email protected]
Hi
My wife is currently pregnant. We have a 10 month old baby boy. He was
born using IVF/ICSI technic. So we thought there is no way to get
pregnant naturally. My wife took a HP test this week and it was
positive. It did happen naturally. Question is my wife has not been
keeping track on her...

Hi - newly pregnant! by
Zaz
Hello,
I have been lurking here for the past week, when I found out I am pregnant.
It's a strange feeling, lurking: it feels like when I was a little girl and
I would listen on the multiline phone in my grandmother's small village. I
knew everything about village gossips, even though I didn't...

Had a scare today...another hospital trip by
Amy
I'm 25 weeks now and Peanut has been active and healthy, but today gave me
one hell of a scare.
I was in a cafe having just had lunch out with my best friend who is staying
with us for a couple of days. I was just walking back to our table after
ordering some drinks when my friend saw me stop...

infant car seat in toyota tacoma - problems with passenger seat by
Mick Backsen
Hi,
We have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma extra-cab pickup, as well as a baby on
the way. This weekend I was investigating how our car seat (which will
usually be in our 2004 Prius) would fit in the pickup. It is a Graco
Snugride with the stay-in-car-base.
Everything looks to be ok - except for one big...

Vitamins/Herbs Question by
Leslie
Ever since I discovered Adelle Davis early in my first pregnancy, I have been a
big believer in vitamin supplementation during pregnancy above and beyond the
traditional prenatal. So this time around I did a little investigating and
decided to get a really good multi-vitamin from Puritan's Pride...

FAO Ericka (or anyone else who might know) by
Kim R.
I was visiting with a prenatal client today and she mentioned that midwives
aren't allowed to practice independently of a doctor in the state of
Virginia. She seemed well informed and knew of some doctors that have
midwives in their office, but said there is no such thing as an independent
midwife...

BIG babies by
Leslie
Is there an established relationship with weight gained during pregnancy and
the size of the baby? I'm wondering if I am able to gain the standard
recommendation of 25-30 lbs. this time instead of my usual 50-70 lbs. if my
baby will perhaps be a tad smaller and a bit easier to deliver than the...
