problems with taking bottles by
juniper
Hello!
Zoe is 14 weeks old, and we started giving her occasional bottles (a few
a week) of EBM at about five weeks. At first, she took them very well,
but over the last couple of weeks has started playing with the nipple
with her tongue, eating only an ounce or two (and taking an hour or so
to...

pregnancy chances update by
K.B.
Well it turns out I have a very bad infection in my uterus. I guess that's
why I felt like I was pregnant. I was getting very bad cramping. I'm glad
I'm not pregnant though. I want to be able to nurse my baby and not have to
worry about pregnancy right now. Plus I'm just starting to fit into...

Irish National BF Week by
Herself
Or is it all over the world as well? It is here, and there was just a
radio show on about bf'ing...mainly, in public. The co-host of the show
had a child, and bf'ed, and went through the first few weeks of hell,
but it sounded like she perservered and all was good.
And good on the Irish...most...

So that's what all the fuss was about by
Phoebe & Allyson
Hey, teapot, maybe there's hope for Moo boy yet.
Last night, Caterpillar had her normal bedtime routine -
bath, lotion, nurse, play (flail on the bed until fussy),
nurse, sleep. Usually the flail on the bed part is pretty
short, because she flips over and can't flip back, and then
it's not fun...

Frustrated by
Jodie
DD turned 8 months on Sunday. Problem... she won't sleep! I'm at my
sleep-deprived wits end. I can explain it away, ie. teething, more
mobility, separation anxiety,etc... but rationalizations don't offer
solutions.
Ok, ok... of course she sleeps, but a "normal" night for us goes like
this... ...

Naomi is here... and I am late by
Stephanie and Tim
in posting this. I have to be quick though. She was born on 9/20 and weighed
7lbs and 14oz. She is adorable; she looks a lot like her brother did when he
was a baby. She nursed successfully after delivery. And has been a champ in
that department since. We had a couple of rocky minutes after she had...

lopsided by
Stephanie and Tim
DD (12 days old) only nuses well on one side. I am already lopsided. If I
offer the lesser prefered breast first, she does not even bother. She WILL
take it second, after the preferred breast, and eats a little. I still get
let down sensation out of it, but not like the left (preferred) side....

What counts as projectile vomiting? by

I think this doesn't, but... We nursed, I stood Caterpillar
up on my lap to see if she'd burp, and at least an ounce
(measured by the "pour water on the counter until it looks
like the same amount"...

Hales Lookup Please by
Sunnyflower999
Hi All,
I have a 6 month old son which I'm happily breast feeding without problems.
However I have a need to use a cream called Bayer Mycospor (10g - Bifonazole
10mg, Urea 400mg) topically. Could someone please do a Hales look-up on this
product for me?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,

refusal to feed after 5 mins by
jools
Hello this is my first post,
My baby is two weeks old and I am having trouble breastfeeding. At the
moments she will take no more than 5 minutes at the breast before becoming
distressed and crying/screaming. She then falls asleep and refuses to take
anymore from breast or bottle. I am worried that...

why sore now? by
Clare L
What am I doing after 13 months of BF having sore breasts?
In the early hours of Thursday morning I went to hospital with my dodgy
lungs (well couldn't really leave them at home!) and so wasn't there for DS
early morning feed. Instead he had a small feed when DH brought him in
mid-morning. They...

Tell me this isn't just gas... by
zeldabee
Bubeleh will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. I've seen him smile many times, but
as part of a repertoire of expressions that pass over his face, and it
seemed almost random, so I figured they weren't "real."
This morning was different, though...We'd had a good night--he wasn't
fussy, didn't stay awake...

CTTS by
Herself
P was sitting next to me on the couch, asking me to read him a book.
All of a sudden, there was a little belch sound. I looked at him and
said "What was that?" He looked at me, with a "duh" look and said
"Burp."

Question: Should I give water to my 3mth old by
Bubeebubee
Dear Group,
I have been exclusively bf my 3 mth old. Do I need to feed her with water?
It seems there are divergent opinions. Some says not giving water will cause brain damage. Some says giving water will hurt baby's kidney.
I am really confusing. Which is correct?

I nursed in public today :) by

Okay, so it wasn't the first time but it was all about where I did it.
If anyone if from the Detroit Michigan area and is familiar with Sommerset
Mall you'll understand.
This is the hoity toity mall... VERY hotsy totsy. And there I was... smack
dab in the middle of the mall nursing DS. I was so...

solids at 10 months by
Shannon G
Okay, I've heard from everyone and everything I've read that, until one year
of age, solids are for learning and experimenting and should only make up
50% or so of the diet. Is that because theoretically they may not want to
eat much in the way of solids or because they shouldn't?
DD is 10 1/2...
