Swollen feet on crawling 8 month old by Trigger Fish
My 8 month old son just got into his crawling grove a week or two ago. Yesterday we noticed the tops of both his feet were swollen. It doesn't seem to be causing him any pain and he is not scratching it as if it were itchy. Is this something normal for a baby who just begins crawling? Thanks

How long does your two-year-old nap? by Sara
I can't figure out how long an ideal nap is for Ollie. Left on his own, he'd nap three hours. He doesn't sleep well at night -- he wakes up every two or three hours, nurses for a few minutes, then falls back asleep -- and I don't know how his long naps contribute to this. If I wake him up after an...

Period pain 2 weeks after IUD fitting by JBC
Hi all, I'm 18 and had an IUD fitted 3 weeks ago. (I decided against the pill due to family history.) 2 weeks after fitting (a week ago) I started to get what can only be described as 'period pains' for 5-10 minutes every afternoon at about 4pm. Sometimes it comes back half an hour later for...

'98 Corolla Car Seat Fit by Mark
I'm having a problem getting my infant seat to fit in the center rear seat of my 1998 corolla. Actually, the firemen (trained in installing seats) are the ones having the problem as I didn't even dare attempt to install it. I have an Evenflo Portabout 5 for my 3 month old. The problem apparently...

Diapers at daycare, underwear everywhere else? by Sophie
Can a child do that? L is good at being in underwear at home (haven't run errands with him yet in underwear) but at the daycare he holds it until he has an accident. The teacher thinks he's probably the kind of child who prefers to go at home, so running errands for an hour or 2 he'll be...

potty question by jojo
background: My son is 26 months. We bought a potty chair at 18 months and set in the bathroom. We really did nothing more. At 22 months he moved up at daycare to the 2 year room. They don't push potty training, but they do have potty breaks through the day for those who want to go. My son jumped...

Lying by Sue
I need some help in getting my 7-year-old to stop lying. It's to the point where she lies about everything and I certainly cannot believe anything she says anymore. I can tell most of the time when she is lying and I will rephrase questions not as acqusations, but in a way where she has to tell...

fever question by firedancer623
My 8 yr old has had a moderate fever for 5 days now. It's been consistenly around 102 without letting up aside from taking 200mg of Advil or Tylenol around the clock. She has no other symptoms other than a runny nose which she had for about 2 weeks prior to getting the fever. Neither of the other...

Venting: Stuck at home.... by gtonello
Hi all! I'm new here, but I needed a place to rant about my family, and I wondered if anyone else goes through this, or if it's just me. Am I being selfish? I am 25 years old, and I have 3 great kids, aged 4 1/2, 3, and 17 mos. My in-laws live about 25 min. from my house, and I don't know...

Very Poor Handwriting by Chris Himes
Both of my boys have very poor handwriting (ages 9 and 13). Some of their teachers comment on it, but some don't. My older son occasionally misses some points on tests because the teacher can't read his answers. Now that he has started more advanced math, he also misses negative signs, forgets...
