38w 4d update by
Tiina Kartovaara
Well, today I had one of those boring appointments again. I did get to
to inform my caregiver that my body is finally telling me to slow down a
little, but I'm still getting around just fine and feeling swell in general.
Blood pressure was 124/72 and weight gain seems to have stopped - I
hadn't...

Hi Linda,
if I remember correctly, your due date was yesterday (7th) but 9th by the
doctors, so I just wanted to wish you easy and speedy labour. Maybe you are
already holding your little one :-)
Hi Lissie - as your EDD is today - any news?
Wishing you all the best,
Elly

oh, boy... by
zeldabee
It looks like my water's broken...this morning I had a couple of
unmistakeable but small leaks that turned into a steady trickle for a
while, and now has mostly stopped. Now I seem to have all sorts
of...erm...stuff coming out of me. I've only just started having actual
contractions, but they're...

Failed my PPD test by
Taniwha grrrl
I took part in some research recently for a study that's
been done on developing a scale for testing for PPD in New
Zealand womyn. You didn't have to be depressed to take part,
in fact they preferred you weren't, but had to have a baby
between 2 weeks and 12 weeks.
So the researcher came to my...

minivan or suv? by
Carolyn Jean Fairman
We have a little Honda Civic and it's going to be time (well, after
February!) to add a larger car.
How many people have minivans versus a SUV or miniSUV like the Honda
CR-V?
I have this aversion to minivans, I admit it, so in part I'm asking if
anyone went with a SUV or miniSUV as the family car...

Handling miscarriage naturally (long) by
JennP
As I explained in another thread, I have miscarried again :(
Since it is much earlier this time (last time was around 12 weeks, D&C was
strongly rec'd by my midwife) I have been given options for dealing with it.
Miscarrying naturally, D&C, or Misoprostol (cyotec).
I initially thought i would...

Help! Spotting question by

I posted something about his earlier, but received no responses, so I'm

I was anticipating ovulating around Sept 5th. A couple of days prior to

33 weeks and lost weight by
Nina
I seem to have lost about 3 or 4 lbs in the past 2 or 3 weeks, that can't be
good. Im kind of bummed because I thought I had been gaining, and everyone
says I dont look that huge. (I feel huge) Damn, should I be worried? How
worried? I've never lost weight while pregnant before and at this stage...

He's here! by
Cheryl S.
Sorry it's taken me so long to get the news out!
Jaden Alexander was born September 3, at 6:46 am weighing 8 lbs 1 oz and
20 inches long. We came home about 13 hours later, and are both doing
great.
It was fun seeing the poll, but I didn't figure out who won. The winner
will have to identify...

39 weeks & SICK--assorted questions by
Kathy
Hi everyone--
I'm 39 weeks today (first baby) and have a few assorted questions I hope
you can help me with...
#1...Has anyone ever had acute bronchitis this late in pregnancy? I
have been sick with a terrible cough for almost 1 month now. My OB had
me on Keflex and Robitussin A-C, which did...

Friends and relatives making me crazy! (a bit long) by
gaanji
Hi all,
I'm hoping somebody out there can help. I'm quite upset right
now--just spent the past hour and a half crying--and I don't know how
to handle this situation.
Briefly (I'll try, anyway), my two best friends, who are reiki
practitioners, will be in the delivery room with me to help...

question about early/pre-labour (somewhat graphic) by

Three days ago, at just over 37 weeks, my OB discovered that I was 2
cm dilated and effaced to within 1 cm, and that the baby was engaged
(not just dropped, as I had already suspected). She was able to feel
the baby's head with her...

First visit to the OB by
Truffles
Well, I just got back from the OB. Nice enough fellow. The one thing
that stuck out was he didn't look at his watch the whole time I was
there. I was there for about 40 minutes, too.
After he asked me a bunch of questions, he took my blood pressure and
checked the baby's heartrate with the...

new babies, old families, and lurkers by

So here's the new addition to the due-date check in! I was flipping
through my Sears pregnancy book to write all the questions, and it
includes the chapter: "The Tenth Month - postpartum." Postpartum is
definitely a part of pregnancy, so here you go:

Need Advice--a little long by
GoofeeGyrl
In a nutshell: I posted earlier today about feeling crampy, making frequent
trips to the bathroom for #2, and feeling a bit nauteous last evening until
this morning, and wondering how much longer I might expect to feel this way
before real labor kicks in. I am still feeling this way, but also in...
