Iatrogenic Infections... study indicates 3.3 million U.S. women per year by
William Parrish
About a week ago a poster raised the issue of Iatrogenic Infection
(loosely: infection that originates in the physician's office).
Our 'Internet worm' (or whatever it is called) alerted us to the post
- which I read with much interest. I say 'much interest' because we
have published a book titled...

18 month check up! by
Jamie Clark
Taylor had her 18 month check up today, and she's doing great. I've been
slightly concerned that she isn't eating much and drinking lots of milk, but
her height is off the charts and her weight is about 75-95%, so we're fine
there. She'd only gained about a pound since we were in last time in...

36 week appt by
A&G&K
First of all - Larry the RRLT has worked wonders in 1 week!!! BP was 125/80
last week and was back to 115/65 yesterday (normal for me). I am still
retaining a bit of fluid but its not too bad (bugger- I can't blame the
weight gain on fluid!)
My Ob is happy with just letting me bumble along and...

External Version scheduled for tomorrow by
Cherie
Unfortunately this baby has decided she does not want to turn on her own so
we go into the hospital tomorrow at 7am for an external version. I will be
exactly 38 weeks. At my last appointment we discussed the procedure and OB
stated he would not induce labor after the procedure unless I desired it...

March 05 due dates, TTC'ers, and new members by
Mary S.
Congratulations to any early birds who know they're pregnant already! Is
it a shock, or a much-awaited blessing? How many pregnancy tests did
you have to take before you believed it? :) Any symptoms yet?
For our TTC members, how is the journey going? Need to vent, cry, yell
a bit? Feeling...

November 04 due dates by

Halfway there! How's everyone doing? Making the switch into "wow, I
really look pregnant now" or have you been there for a while? Kicks and
tumbles? Dealing with the glucose test, a possible amnio, results from
the triple screen, ultrasounds? Happy with your birth plans, your care
providers,...

Re-introduction by
MELISSA TARSKY
I'm back and I'm pg!!!
I spent way too much time here and am finally ready to come back (Elizabeth
naps 2 hrs. every morning) since I'm 6-7 wks. along.
Unfortunately, since my first labor was so fast and we've moved further from
that hospital, I'm stuck using a OB/GYN instead of the fabulous...

I hate this (visitors unplanned) by
Jill
Argh- pet peeve! When it takes me forever to get the baby to sleep for a nap
and then the doorbell rings, and it is someone uninvited who doesn't call
before they come etc. And I'm like "Oh, this is not a good time..it took me
FOREVER to get the baby to nap and she just fell asleep..." And they...

pampering in the third trimester by
ted
Did/Do any of you get massages/pedicures/manicures etc. during the
third trimester or are these a big no-no? I read few threads about
these but even in a single thread the replies are somewhat split.
Are there other ways to release stress and pamper yourself?
Thanks.

mucus plug by
Gwen & John
I passed the what the midwife thinks is my cervical protective mucus plug
today. I am only 34 weeks pregnant. According to the internet, labour is
imminent. When did you pass your mucus plug and how long after did labour
start properly.

You all are so impatient, what would you do without my website to cheat?
Lol.
Yes, Nolan Andrew was born on Tuesday, July 6, at 8:39 am, weighing 6 lbs 12
oz (exactly the same weight as Charlotte - Sharon how did you get that spot
on? Lol).
Everything went well except the spinal taking *6* tries,...

posting ultrasound image on weblog by
Richard Silverstein
I have a rather obscure but important (at least to me) desire to post
an ultrasound image of my developing twins online at my blog. Our OB
told me that his ultrasound equipment is not capable to transferring
the image to a file I could use for uploading. BUt he said that a
specialized ultrasound...

(x-posted) best infant sippy cup by
ted
With all the agony I had with DD's nipple confusion the first time
around, I don't want to take any chances this time. I want to get this
new baby started on sippy cup when it's my time to go back to work
(with no bottles/nipples).
I know there are soft sippy cups suitable for 3 month old babies...

False alarm :( by
zolw
How embarrassing ... I thought my water broke, so I called my doctor's
office to explain that some sort of liquid (about 1 -1 1/2 table spoons)
came out. I wasn't asked for more details & was advised to go to the
hospital (it was the administrative nurse, not the doctor's nurse).
So, we took our...
