Broaching subject of meds with doctor by
Michelle S. Spina
Hi All!
I've been battling with migraines the last couple of weeks, and I saw
my family doc today. He didn't give me a script for Imitrex when he
heard that I was bf'ing (why, oh WHY did I bring it up???). From what
I've read here, it sounds like both Hale's and the AAP find Imitrix to
be ok for...

health visitors advice about 1st stage weaning by
teapot
I have got some work lined up so need to sort out this expressing
thing properly. Our health visitor told me to express 6oz, give it to
my bloke and leave him with the baby for 3 hours while I go shopping.
Bliss! 3 hours of shopping - prescribed! wthout a pushchair! just a
pity I haven't got...

Baby with *no* growth spurts? by
Chotii
....or do I just have so much milk that this kiddo doesn't *have* to build up
my supply? I've waited and waited for her growth spurts to have her catch up
to my supply...at 2 weeks, I hoped, at 3 weeks I prayed, and now we're
almost at 6 weeks and there's not a sign of a nurse-every-hour growth...

FAO: Charlotte by
Truffles
I was visiting a friend at VGH in July. The nursing support seems to be
better. Is that your doing?
The only thing that stood out though is the "We'll take the baby to the
nursery so you can rest." They're still offering that.

bad rash on breasts by
K.B.
I wrote a few days ago about this rash I have. The Dr. said it was poison
ivy but it's been almost 2 weeks. Now it has spread all over my body
including my breasts. It is so itchy. I called the Dr. on call yesterday and
she said it sounds like impetigo. If it is, it's probably very contagious....

OT Stranger Anxiety by
CountryJay
It is totally normal for your baby to have stranger anxiety regardless if
you are a SAHM or not......But if you are wanting an answer if it makes a
difference if you stay at home with your baby verses if you put him or her
in daycare?
The answer is simple. If you place your child in daycare the...

Ouch! by
The Domestic Goddess
Ok, I am still nursing my 9 month old daughter (she will be 10 months
on the 20th) and recently, she had been having trouble gaining weight
so I upped her table food (She had been eating only things that I
thought she could handle, But she could handle alot more than I
thought with only 2 teeth)...

Latch problem, need help by
CY
Many latch problems can be corrected if caught early enough. I urge you to
seek the help of a good IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation
Consultant) as often the ones that see you in the hospital are not
certified, not to mention that they are not all created equal. You can find
one in...

5 month old biting by
sharonx9
My daughter is 5 1\2 months old and has had her 2 bottom teeth for a few
weeks now. All has been fine before now with only the occassional bite.
But she got sick on Saturday and had a fever and was very grumpy. Now,
while being sick (for 3 days), she has bit me several times and pretty
hard. My...

bf after breast biopsy? by
shelley
Does know anything about breastfeeding after a breast biopsy? I found
a lump that my ob/gyn feels we need to investigagte more (the
ultrasound indicated it's not a cyst -ie: not fluid filled). He says i
should be able to nurse (my DD is 8 weeks old) as soon as the
procedure is over. I'm just...

We made it to our goal ... now we have a new goal by
A&G&K
Well, its 1 year since our DD arrived in this world and we couldn't be
happier. I originally planned on bf her until today but, thanks to this
group, I now have no desire to wean her - I shall wait for her to decide to
wean herself.
We are having a family dinner and birthday pressents tonight and...

Poop Lol! by

I have to laugh at Liam, he almost always poops when I'm feeding him or at
least he'll always choose to poop when feeding rather than at any other
time. And everybody else in the room can hear him. He'll have us poor with
the amount of nappies he is going through..........might be time...

Frozen milk help by
Phoebe & Allyson
We came back from church to discover that either my MIL or
Allyson's cousin left the (upright, separate from fridge)
freezer standing open. The one bag of the milk in the door
has mostly thawed, but still had a chunk of ice in the
center. I haven't checked on the 50 ounces in a big
Tupperware on...

galactagogue effects by
ted
If there's an increase in supply due to using a galactagogue, will the
supply go down if the galactagogue is stopped? Or does it increase
hormone levels in the body that the supply remains high even after
stopping it? Does this vary with the galactagogue used? Or is it a
YMMV thing?
Thanks.

Just wondering by
Mogget
Is it possible to generalise about how milk supply comes in with second
& subsequent children?
I had a devil of a job getting adequate milk production, but got there
in the end. I'm wondering whether it's likely to be easier if there is
a next time?

baby VERY uncomfortable by

My 6 mo old DD is a very happy baby. She always smiles and even when
she's hungry, she just calls out, doesn't cry. Well.. all changed
yesterday. I gave her some avocado mashed up around 11am. She had it
once a month ago and loved it. She ate it well yesterday too. In the
evening I gave it again...
