Kinda OT- BC after birth/ Copper iud by
Rob and Jami
My OB asked us about birth control after baby, at my last visit. I cannot
take "the pill" because I have a blood clotting risk (factor V) I tried
taking depo about 2 years ago and it was HORRIBLE. I'm not sure if it was
the progestin that made me so sick, but if it was that leaves out...

22 week update, not good news by
Donna Metler
First the good news-the baby is growing as expected, heartbeat is strong,
and the average BP readings and protein levels etc don't show any early
signs of PE. The bad news is that some of my headaches are demonstrating
neurological symptoms which are sometimes seen in severe PE. This could...

There is NO turning back now.. by
Mary S.
She's now rolling over EASILY and turning in circles. Morgan is able to sit
for long periods without assistance.
Now I know why women want another baby so soon.
Aww, they grow up so darn fast! Babyhood is way too short. :)

and another with a 2 yr. old baby) who had tubal ligations
immediately after giving birth and now are pregnant!
One had her procedure done in CA the other in TN. Has anyone here on

OT - Whew, I've moved. by
Cathy Weeks
Sigh.... Well, we picked up and moved from New Jersey to Minnesota,
and boy was it a lot of work!
We did do a little going away party at Kivi's daycare - Ice cream
cones. They presented us with her portfolio, and a little album of
pictures, which Kivi was very taken with. She held it during much...

HELP! 2 week baby problems (long: cross mail) by
zolw
Hi;
Sina is giving me a real hard time. :( I am so unhappy & I believe so is
she.
1- I do realize that I am having some sort of postpartum blues right
now. I am overwhelmed by everything. Not only the sad things, but also
the happy things. I look at my daughter & I am so happy that I cry. I
look...

4 month check-up (who's the mom with the 11lb6oz baby from April?) by
Karen
William saw the ped today for his well-baby. My 11lb 22 1/2in newborn is
now 19lb8oz and 27 1/4 inches at exactly 4 months. Didn't do any shots,
as we are doing delayed/selected vax, will likely start with something
at the 6mo visit. Wanted to discuss it with ped, but ds1 age 4 was a
mental case...

More than one child by
Shelley
OK, give me the truth. How much different is two kids than one. I
know many people do it and seem to survive but I'd love to hear the
lowdown from you experienced moms of what to really expect. Some of
my concerns/questions may seem a bit trivial but I wonder anyway.

why I like my OB by

Last night the practice I see hosted a tour of the maternity wing of
the hospital they deliver at.
I'd taken the general tour 3 yrs. ago when expecting DS, but wanted to
make sure things hadn't changed since then. Turns out there had been a
few changes in the car park entrance and admissions desk...

allergy food crisis... wah! help! by

Food is becoming like a *major* crisis for me.
Background: I have a ton of allergies, including allergies to dairy, peanut,
lobster, hazelnuts, strawberries and probably a couple other things i'm not
thinking of right at the moment.
When I was pg with dd, I was vegetarian and most of my protein...

Cloth diaper question by
Elizabeth H Bonesteel
(This is kind of OT; but I know there are some cloth users here.)
Emily is 10 weeks old now, and has been blessing us with huge chunks of
sleep at night - often, no kidding, 10 hours at a time. While this is
pretty nice for Mom and Dad, it does tend o leave her with an
uncomfortably wet diaper...

Ventaire bottles by
Jody Pellerin
Has anybody here used the Playtex Advance/Ventaire bottles? If so, what did
you think of them? Do they really reduce/eliminate gas? I'm considering
getting a set because Brittany has a serious issue with gas and fussiness
lately but they are rather expensive so I don't want to waste the money if...

Today Morgan had her 4 month checkup (she's actually 4 1/2 months old). She
weighed in at 16 lbs 11 oz. She has more than doubled her weight since
birth.
She is also 2' 2.5" (26 inches) tall which puts her in the 96th percentile.
Yeooowwza!! She's taller than 96% of all girls her age. She...

How do women get through that ninth month??? by
Carlye
Oh Wise Ones, I need help. I am due in 5 weeks, 5 days (not that I'm
counting...) and up until now, I've been relatively upbeat with only
the occassional depressive episode/temporary breakdown/panic attack.
On top of that, I really have had no health problems or medical
concerns. It's been a very...
