A dose of bull in the Sunday paper by
She's A Goddess
Did anyone else catch this lovely tidbit in their Sunday paper?
http://tinyurl.com/2m3gt
I'll skip right past the "how bad co-sleeping is" bit and just wonder why in
damnation "Consider breastfeeding" is #4. Sigh. Then there was the good
laugh provided by #13 - finally a good reason to quit...

anyone else have a very large breastfed kid? by
Dagny
Hm, according to the CDC chart, Meg is -- hovering slightly above. She was
born at 9lbs3, 22". She's now just a few ounces shy of 16 pounds and I
expect her to hit 16 by 3 months (just a few days away). I think she's 26
inches by now; I measured her maybe 10 days ago at 25.5"
I realize I should...

Finally: an organic-milk formula by
Chotii
You know, people have asked about this stuff here sometimes, for when their
kids have to go into daycare and they can't pump enough, or whatever. I
*finally* saw a Horizon brand organic cow's milk formula, suitable for
babies birth-12 months, at the grocery store. $17 for a can of the stuff! ...

Bromocriptine by
[email protected]
hi there!
I'm a lurker here at m.k.b. and an occasional poster over at m.k.p.
I saw several posts recently that mentioned the dangers of
bromocriptine, and I was hoping someone could tell me more about them
since my doctor is talking about prescribing it.
I'm TTC, but my prolactin levels are...

Which sippy cup is best for supplementation? by
jjmoreta
I've been working on getting my DS off of supplementation for quite some
time. We were having what seemed like nipple confusion issues a few weeks
back and I looked into sippy cups but then he started nursing okay again. I
didn't know what to buy, so I just dropped the issue. Well now I'm...

Great Dr.s appointment today by
Tina
Hi everyone!
Just wanted to pop in and say, first, that Solana (32 months old --
still nursing occasionally) saw a new allergist today, and tonight we
had pizza with real cheese, for the first time in about 18 months!
She's been failure to thrive, and allergic to milk and eggs, and now
she seems...

Funny question... by
AlenasMom
When you're breastfeeding, I know it can take stopping to get AF back, but
if you start the pill, will you get it back for sure?

Hello ladies,
I want to thank you all for a wonderful, supportive

vitamins by
Ty
I bought the poly-vi-sol vitamins for my 15 month old daughter. They taste
and smell horrible and she took the dropper the first day and spit most of
it out the second and will not let me near her face with it anymore. Is
there a better tasting vitamin mix for her? I couldn't find anything else...

what are the dangers of this? by
Nancy
amalgam extraction? for prego ladies or breast feeding types.
IF this is bad, ohw long should the lady stop BF the child a few days?

Once the crown covers the amalgam, is all well again?
Thanks

nestle question - premier ambient products by
j rickman
Does anyone know the current status of products such as Dufrais
vinegars and Branston pickles which previously had the Nestle logo.
Now they state that they are made by "premier ambient products". Is
this company affiliated to Nestle at all, or can I now buy these
products?
thanks

how many babies not interested in solids at first? by
teapot
I'm just curious as to the percentage of babies (like mine) who just
arn't that interested in solids. I started him on mushed stuff a
month ago at 6 mths old and I'm still lucky if I can get a teaspoon
worth into him. My mates child, the same age as the Moo wolfs down
his puree. I waited until...

Persuading someone by
Philly
I read a few baby message boards and have found a message that I am
quite compelled to reply to, but would like to get some facts before I
start ranting!
A lady has asked how soon breastfed babies sleep through the night.
She has one child already who was formula fed and slept through (9+
hours a...

will she come around? by

By the time I deliver this new baby in Sept, my daughter would be 18
months old. I pumped for my dd for 8 months and I just couldn't take
it anymore. I would cringe just by looking at the pump. It was just
too painful for me not to mention how to tough it was pumping 5 times
a day while working...

cow's milk vs formula for 16mo?? by
Dawn Lawson
any reason NOT to use cow's milk if he's only taking about 4 oz at
bedtime? *I* will happily be the one to fork out the cash for organic
formula, if it makes more sense.

worried about the future by

Before ds was born I intended to nurse him through the first year, it
hadn't occured to me that longer might be good. Now I'm better educated,
it's best for him to carry on longer and I intend to let him self wean.
The problem is my mum and my friends, they all think I am nuts, they
already think I...
