opinions on pumps by
All4meUC
I need your opinions on breast pumps. It seems a lot of you have the Avent Isis
manual pump and like that one. I'm NOT looking for something hospital grade (or
that expesive!) just a pump that will do the job. Is it worth getting one of
the less expensive electric/battery operated brands or would...

Peanut butter by
Clare L
For a child who has already dealt with one allergy (milk) and grown out of
it, how old should I wait for him to be before dishing up the peanut butter?
I think he may have had some exposure to peanuts via my milk already - I
have a recollections of dipping into some bowls of nuts on more than...

How often should a 2 month old nurse? by
Kari
Is it normal for a 2 month old to be nursing as often as he did as a
newborn?
He'll go 2-3 hours between feeds, 24 hours a day. So far we haven't had a
stretch longer than a 3 hours. The reason Im wondering is because during
the night, he will wake at regular intervals but then nurse for only...

OT bounty packs rant and vent by
teapot
In the UK we get free 'Bounty' packs, a couple when the baby is born,
one for weaning (getting onto solids not giving up BF) and one for
toddlers. I went to collect my weaning pack today. The only thing I
would consider feeding the Moo was a jar of Hipp organic fruit. And I
kept the weetabix...

Pregnant and has History of Actute Pancreatitis by
Alex
Hello from Montreal,
Crossposting here following the kind suggestion of CY in m.k.pregnancy.
My wife has had five episodes of acute pancreatitis in the last five
years, each of which required her to be hospitalized for about three
weeks. She has a 3-cm (1.25 inch) pseudocyst on the tail of...

8 month old nursnig frequently by
sharonx9
My baby girl is 8 1\2 months old. She co sleeps with me and always has, I
prefer it. (TMI)...I sleep with no shirt so it's easier to nurse her, but
here's my problem. She wants to stay latched almost constantly. She seems
to wake every hour or so to nurse. We both just fall back to sleep but...

Update - eliminating supplements by
jjmoreta
Well we've backslid quite a bit this week, when I was looking forward to
getting some progress done, but there's a good reason.
Ian has been congested since birth. Lately its gotten a whole lot worse, to
the point that I took him to the doctor Wednesday. Things seemed to go well
on Monday, but...

can babies get acidity? by
ted
My almost 9 month old dd eats yogurt every day. About 4 tablespoons
per day. She loves it. Apart from that she eats rice cereal, some kind
of veggies etc. Nobody in our household has lactose intolerance.
Given that background, she's not been very happy at nights. She gets
up often and is very...

OT - co sleeping and punchy baby by
teapot
We co sleep 'cos Moo boy won't entertain the thought of his cot next
to the bed right now (probably too cold). I have him on my side and
the way I am most comfortable with is to have him on his side facing
away from me so he can't suffocate. I wrap an arm round him as well.
Other than sleeping...

How long till my food I've eaten affects my breast milk? by
Rebecca
Please help!
We have a gorgeous but windy baby (5 weeks) and I have been advised to
keep an eye on what I eat to work out if something in my diet is
making him windy.
However, I can find any information as to how long it takes for the
food Ive eaten to affect the taste of the breast milk and...

Question about sudden drop in supply by
Erin
My parents in law were in town last week to visit DD, who is now a month
old. They are lovely folks, but raised kids in the era of formula and
feeding schedules, which caused the usual friction. My MIL wanted to hold
the baby constantly, and when DD would start in with her hungry cry, I had
the...

Ab Fab BBC by
Irish Marie
Anybody else see Absolutely Fabulous on BBC1 tonight?
Quick bit of Saffy using an electric breast pump and then Eddie looking at
the bottle of EBM and saying that she reckoned she could get more from one
'titful'.
Very funny!
