Baby Number Two On the Way! by
Zaz
Hi everyone,
It's been a long time... I've been extremely busy with work and Mademoiselle
C, who has just turned 10 months old, is always standing up, and will be a
beauty. Sorry I haven't posted in such a while.
Yesterday I found out we are on for Baby Number Two! Not an accident, but a
slight...

Oh no, not again... by
Zaz
It seems to be all starting again, like it was with Mlle C. I spend last
night having contractions, then a warm bath would stop all. Out of the bath,
a few hours later... more contractions. This is week 37... I don't want to
have another long practice until the "real" thing: I know the drill...

This is where I get tired with the whole pregnancy thing by
Zaz
Depending on my "official" estimated due date, I'm either 10 days away or 3
days away. Either way, I'm at the point where I only want to end this thing,
and hold my baby boy in my arms.
I started having contractions - some slight, some very painful - very much
apart, my ankles tend to swell in the...

Mom's here! by
Zaz
I called my mother last night and asked her to come over.
By the end of the afternoon, I realised a couple of things...
A- I'm contracting, painfully so, although there is no regularity just yet.
B- My hip, pelvic and all the bones in those areas ache like hell - no
position is comfortable.
C- I...

Foreskin... touch it or not? by
Zaz
Hi,
I haven't posted in a long time - taking care of an 18-months and a newborn
is quite something!
A question related to my little one (now 2 months old)'s organ... I was told
not to touch his foreskin, just clean the outside. I followed that advice
and never pulled on the foreskin. Now my...

I took my precious time, but here are pictures of Catherine (aka Mlle C) and
Guillaume... On them, she's 20 months old and he is betweek 6 and 7 weeks
old.

Of course, you have to tell me they're gorgeous, but I would think so
anyway!

Update on the family by
Zaz
Hi,
For those of you who are interested, Guillaume has just turned 5 months on
the 13, and Catherine will be 2 years old on the 27. Wow. My baby has grown.
Guillaume plays a lot with his toes these days, grabs whatever he can, but
isn't always able to bring it in his month yet (I'm grateful for...

He just stopped drinking! by
Zaz
I seem to be encountering many problems these days... could explain my
delurking (I always read, but don't always post).
Well. Now. Guillaume is 5 months old. He's been eating cereals and veggies
for a month now, and so far everything went fine. Until about a week ago,
when he simply stopped...

Yet another false (and embarassing) alarm by
Zaz
As with Mlle C, it happened again. I was moving stuff around in the kitchen
(we moved in about two weeks ago), when suddenly it went "splash" all over
the floor. I tried to hold it, but to no avail, and so I thought my water
had broken. Since the last time they never broke on their own accord,...

Belated - 31 week appointment w/ midwife by
Zaz
Now, that was an interesting one. Micheline (my midwife) had been up helping
another woman giving birth since 3 AM. By the time we got there, the lady in
question was being taken for a walk in the park (it was a beautiful, warm
and sunny day) with the student midwife, so Micheline had time for us....

And the saga with Mother continues... by
Zaz
Oh well.. I should have known. I always knew, in fact, but it doesn't change
the sore feelings.
You see, DH and I have decided to build a brand new house in a brand new
residential development. The house will be constructed from scratch, we have
chosen a very nice and large site, where we will be...

Strange feelings about pregnancy no. 2 by
Zaz
I don't really know where to start. I'm calling for help here because
everyone I talked to so far either:
a) have not experienced the same feelings as me;
b) told me "Oh, it will pass" or "Oh, it's normal" and that doesn't help;
c) suggested this pregnancy was maybe not such a good idea after...

Second visit to midwife by
Zaz
No sugar in my blood and the glucometer gave me A-1. So far, no sign of
diabetes.
I've gained only 1 pound in the past four weeks, but reviewing my previous
pregnancy my midwife told me not to get my hopes up too much: I had the same
gain at first with Mlle C... ending up gaining a total of 40...

Ultrasound / Amnio / Down Syndrom by
Zaz
Today was my "routine" 20 weeks ultrasound.
Everything is fine with the baby (it's a boy, btw), except for his nuchal
fold, which is 7 mm. Given my age (35 at birth), the risk of my baby boy
having Down syndrom is, according to the genetician at the hospital, between
3 and 5 %.With those new...

20 Weeks Appointment with Midwife by
Zaz
Hello,
I had my 20 weeks apointment with my midwife (well, more like 21, it's
20+6). I only gained 4 pounds since mid-December, urine sample is good. The
baby wiggles like crazy, the heartbeat is loud, clear and regular, and my
uterus is positionned at the "standard" height. Whatever that means, I...

Sling and risk for baby boy? by
Zaz
Hello,
I know this is a silly question, and I am certain everyone will tell me "of
course not", but still I wonder.
I have purchased a baby sling (kangouroo style, only a long piece of cloth
that you wrap around you and the baby). I saw my neighbour using that and I
believed it was a beautiful...

To end the story by
Zaz
To end this whole story about my baby boy's oversized nuchal fold
measurement...
Following the genetician's concerns, I submitted to an fetal echocardiogram
last Thursday. The genetician had told us that even if our baby was not
trisomic - and when she said that we had no clue as if he was or not...

OT - The nanny is out (major vent, long) by
Zaz
Delurking, I really need to let some steam out.
I'm alone today with my work and my kids, because our nanny has left us
(while I was suffering from a gastroenteritis - which the kids didn't catch,
thanks to the Great Goddess of All Mothers) on Friday afternoon.
I am still trying to figure out...
