Opinions on a name please... by
Auntie Bubbles
Everyone in my family is named after someone, I love this tradition and want
to continue it...
My late maternal grandmother was Mary Catherine Bradeen, she was called
Kaye. My sister and my late mother both have Kaye as a middle name.
If we have a girl, we like Bradeen Kaye (three syllable last...

OT -need bottle help please!! by
Kari
Xander is now 2 mos old and we've recently introduced him to a bottle (of
EBM) and he refuses to take it. We tried a few times right after he was born
so the kids could feed him (about 1/2 ounce each time) and he was fine with
it. I decided it was time to try again and forget it. We've tried Avent...

When can you feel the baby by hand? by
Jill
By placing your hand on your abdomen and feeling around? I keep hearing
people say doctors can tell if all is normal by feeling etc......all I can
feel on my stomach is unidentifiable. It feels like a hard, protruding
stomach.
Of course I think I may be showing small? I have no idea since this is...

U/S and ANOTHER O/B vent! by
Auntie Bubbles
Well, I had my first ultrasound this morning at 20 weeks, and it was a
fantastic experience! The technician was so enthusiastic and informative
and she was having a great time showing us all around our little beanie! We
saw the heart and kidneys and the spine and 5 toes on each foot and 5
fingers...

conception question by
Mary
I've heard that sperm can live up to 3-4 days before the egg pops out
and is fertilized, but what's the story with sex after ovulation? How
long does the egg stick around until it's too late to be fertilized?
Let's say, for example, you BD at 2dpo. Too late? What about 4dpo?

My 23 week check up by
Carol Ann
Had my check up today. The girl's heartbeat is nice and strong. My BP is
120 over 70 and the doctor said I had gained too much weight.
ARGH! Her scale says 182 lbs. Mine says 173 lbs. So, I'm right and she's
wrong. Still, that IS an 18 lb gain since July 28th. YIKES! That's nearly
5 lbs...

Children of world hit hard by flu
Health officials in the United States and abroad said yesterday that
very young children might be at increased risk from this year's flu
virus — the Fujian H3N2 strain — which has hit earlier and
harder than any flu strain in 30 years.

reflexology for turning babies by
Jinge
Does anyone know any DIY pressure points I could use for turning a
posterior baby or a breech baby? I think I am going to end up with a
posterior one as I have an anterior placenta, although I am doing all
the excercises. I have heard of good results for natural treatments
for breech but not...

Update on breech at 35 weeks by

Hi All!
Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about the baby still being
breech at 35 weeks. I had lost my connection to the Internet for quite some
time, so I couldn't respond any sooner.
I had another check by the midwife last Tuesday. She thinks the baby has
turned into the right...

An update on my friend (the sensitive question) by

Well how funny I should ask you all if offering my friend those herbs would
be insensitive. She just posted an update on the group we both read and
asked for them.
Apparently she's been upset enough to have gone to the Dr for help. Her
husband checked out fine, and so did she. She had her...

Intro & thanks by
Deirdre
Greetings, all :)
I really just wanted to post a quick thank you note to all of you --
I'm really late finding this group (36w 2d) and have spent the last couple of weeks "cramming" to get caught up.
Reading everyone's stories has gone a long way to help me feel a little less bizarre as I...

My baby was blue at first by
DD
I had a baby a few weeks ago and he came out quite blue. He cried right
away and turned a nice pink but still was scary to me. I had a vaginal
birth and pushed for about an hour.
Is this normal or are babies supposed to pop out nice and pink.

how we as the non-birth parents where coping with our own
