31 week report & a positioning question by
Em
Yesterday I had another fairly uneventful appointment at my birth center.
Starting now, I'm on a every-two-weeks appointment schedule. Too weird! I
still can't get over being in the 30's now!
Reinforcing why I like this birth center so much, this appt. I didn't even
see the nurse first. The doctor...

Leg Cramps by
Mom2B
Anyone know what causes leg cramps at night? I've been getting them in my
calf muscles (ooch!) and the pain is unbelievable (I'm hoping labour pains
are not much worse!)
I've been told that pointing my feet towards me can help. What I want to
know is, are these cramps related to diet? I've read in...

Holy smokes, anyone experienced this? by
Stephanie
I was just reading an article on BabyCenter.com. (I am goofing off at
work. Don't tell.) I just saw this sentence.
.... "pre-term labor with minimal or no uterine contractions" ...
as a risk factor in determining incompentent cervix. See whole...

Baby is not a fan of Terminator 3 by
Rupert
Went to see T3 this weekend and my wife said she felt the baby moving
all over the place during the movie (it was very very loud and lots of
bass). Either the kid loved the movie or hated it. She felt the baby
movie the other night during a loud thunder storm. Must be the loud
noise, huh?

Flying in a small plane... by
Captain Wubba
Hello. My wife is pregnant with our first child. She is currently 12
weeks into an apparently uncomplicated pregnancy. She's in good
health, and has no specific problems that we know of. I am a pilot,
and we own our own small plane. I have heard conflicting advice about
flying in small,...

Chest cold by
Daye
Hey all...
I am now 16 weeks pregnant. I have a bad chest cold with lots of
coughing. A couple of weeks ago I had a head cold. I hate being sick
and pregnant.
Is there anything I can take for the cough? If no to meds, anyone got
any home remedies that are okay for pregnant women??

Preventing allergies - any reliable evidence? by
Elizabeth A
Hi,
I'm in my second trimester, and still sorting through the evidence on
how to reduce baby's risk of allergies. Atopy runs in our family. My
husband is moderately allergic to pollen and dander; I have one known
food allergy, and minor skin and inhalant allergies. Nothing
anaphylactic; just a...

Summer Heat by
Nina
Ugh. I hate to complain, but it is MISERABLE here! Since we have cool
weather 9 months of the year here, no one seems to have air conditioning.
Not only that, but the windows in these houses tend to open sideways, making
the installation of a window unit difficult PLUS the houses have open...

Hello again (X-posted) by
Lina
We're back home, finally! We'd returned home on the 16th, but didn't have
an internet connection, then the monkey turned blue on me, and we were back
to the hospital.
She has reflux, and is now on two different medications. (Zantax and
Donperidone.) Breastfeeding is going great, and she's gaining...

Ultrasound of lower uterine segment (scar) by

Had my scan today. In theory, it should have been done at 37 weeks, and I'm

Baby hat... by
Rupert
Since we will (hopefully) find out the sex of our baby in a week, I
thought it would be fun to get a hat with baby's name on it. I can
find lots of snow-cap looking things, but no baby baseball caps.
Anybody know of a web site where I could order a customized baby
baseball cap?

Should I put my 3 year old back in diapers? by
Jaime
I just had my fourth baby a little more than a month ago. The other
three, youngest to oldest are 13 months old, two years old and three
years and two months old. The oldest, Sarah, was potty trained about
six months ago and had been doing really well until Rachel first came
home. With Rachel...

Weight gain by
Kereru
Hello all, I have been reading peoples posts when they have an antenatal
appointment, and each one mentions weight gain.
Now I have never been weighed in pregnancy, I have been warned by my midwife
to look out for a sudden weight gain as an indicator of pre-ecalmpsia, but
that's it. She hasn't...

17 Week Ultrasound by
Crystal Dreamer
My ultrasound yesterday evening went great! The baby was very active and she
kept putting her hands in front of her face. I say she because the
technician thinks she's a girl. He said he's not positive, but he didn't see
anything dangling. She's about 3 days bigger than expected, which pushes...

PREGNANT WOMEN: MDs are closing birth canals up to 30%!
It's EASY to allow your birth canal to OPEN the "extra" up to 30%!
