I am an aunt! by Dee in Canada
I just had to share! I witnessed an incredible miracle this morning... the birth of my nephew! After 14 long years of trying and years of fertility treatments, my sister-in-law gave birth to an 8 lb. 11 oz. baby boy at 6am today. I had the pleasure and honour of being her coach/support...

December due dates (posted Nov 'O4) by Sarah Vaughan
(With many thanks to Mary S., original author!) How are all the almost-almost-theres? :) Knee-deep in childbirth classes? Waking up a zillion times at night, have to pee more often? Take some video of those alien-baby-earthquake kicks and tumbles, if you can catch them. Any belly hiccups? ...

Quinn 6mos Dr. appt. by Angela S.
Quinn had his 6 month doctors visit today. He's now 20lbs- 4oz and 28.5 inches long. For his height, his weight is dead on (meaning he's not overweight or fat for his height) and he is in the 95% for his age group. He's roughly the size of the average 9 month old. BIG BOY! He got 5...

Hi Had a look at this group before but haven't posted, so hello to everyone. I have question for anyone trying for a baby and taking Methyldopa. we need your stories for a book by thenewmom
Tell us about your baby ... your birth ... your pregnancy! We need your voices, your opinions, theories, tips, rants and confessions for a new book written by new moms for new moms. So much of the available "literature" on being a mom is either alarmist, highly biased to one parenting philosophy...

birthing class by Kaybee
Hubby and I went to a birthing class yesterday 11/6/04. Yes this is our second baby but the insurance pays for it this time around so we decided to take it. I was a little disappointed because we didn't spend much time on stretches, different positions, breathing...etc. I have taken this class...

Still Pregnant :-( by Leslie
I had high hopes when I went to bed last night because I had lost part of the mucus plug and more came away during the night. But so far, that's all, folks. So I guess it's another boring day of hanging around the house keeping my BP down for me. I was invited to a baby shower this afternoon for...

Feeling umbilical cord... WEIRD! by Zaz
Has anyone ever felt that? This is the second morning I can feel the umbilical cord of my baby, right by my rib, on the left side. The first time, I thought I'd imagined it in a semi-comatose sleep I didn't want to get out of... This morning, as I rolled on my back from right to left (holding my...

33 weeks by Donna Metler
If everything continues as it is, we're expecting to be having a baby in about a month, at around 37 weeks. At this point, BP is still riding right around 90 diastolic most of the time, but we are seeing more numbers in the high 90's/low 100's-and if we get to the point where it is regularly up...

First it got my brother-in-law. Two days later, my parents. The next day, my husband and daughter, and I'm trying to figure out if the flip-floppy feeling in my tum is the baby or the onset. Symptoms include vomiting, diarhea (often simultaneous), body aches, exhaustion and low grade fever. My...

I'm nesting by Beach mum
What a great time for me to be nesting. Last time, I never felt the urge (other than an irrational need to install the car seat on the day before E was born) but this time I've already purchased a new bouncer (hated the last one), a new diaper bin and a new monitor (E will get the new one and...
