Why o why can't DH understand how I feel. He asked me to rub his back (again as I've done it for th last two nights) cause it's sore from the phys training he's doing for the academy. When I told him I just wasn't up to it tonight, he got snitty and went to bed and shut the door. It wasn't like...

unsettling ultrasound by Clw31
Hello, I'm feeling very anxious at the moment. I went for a dating u/s on Thursday. The tech said, you are pregnant but... the baby isn't showing up well on the screen, it should look like a bean and this isn't clear he wanted to call my doctor to get authorization for a vaginal u/s. Couldn't...

Listeria by KD
As far as I understand, Listeria is food poisoning. Within a couple of days you would know you had it with flu-like symptoms I believe. Vomiting, cramps, etc. often bad enough to have to go to the hospital. And I believe, in most cases, a preg. woman who gets it loses the baby. Someone in my area...

urge to push, not dilated by Al Bell
Question: If you're partly dilated and have a huge urge to push, is it really wrong to push? Background: A year ago, after one of the 10 million ob/gyns I saw decided it was time to induce me because it looked as if I had preeclampsia (blood pressure 180/100, so maybe she was right), I ended up...

Question about sling/attachment parenting (long, sorry) by Vijay
Hi. As a first-time mom of an extremely intense high-needs baby, I am in need of advice from some more experienced moms. I like the sound of attachment parenting, and it makes sense to me, I just haven't been able to apply it totally in my daily routine. DH is adamant about not co-sleeping and I...

It's a GIRL! by Coccinella
We just came back from the dr's office. It's a girl! We are so happy. Everything is fine, all the tests came back perfect and the u/s tech said that all the measurements are fine. I have to stop grinning or my jaws will be locked. Hope everything is fine with everybody. Love Nicky

I'm Googling but have been unable to find this information yet. Does anyone have stats on the incidence of spontaneous induction of labor in the course of performing an external cephalic version? I'm currently at 35w 3d and waiting for baby to turn. If no turn happens, we'll be doing a version...

My Doctor Likes My Birth Plan! by Naomi Rivkis
Went for a checkup today and brought my birth plan. I'd worked hard on it, in consultation with my doula; it's a balancing act. How to include everything that really matters to me, but pick my battles, ignore that small stuff and keep it under a page; how to sound firm enough that what I say really...
