OT - Separation Anxiety? by KD
Hi all: My son is just about eight months old. He's been waking a lot in the night for the past week or so (every two or three hours at times). Sometimes the paci will fix it, sometimes nothing but the boob. However, just in the last three nights he seems to suddenly have acquired major issues...

sleep question by shell8279
I have a 7 mo. old who I am still nursing (in addition to feeding her solids). She goes to bed around 7 pm, wakes up around 3 am then wakes for good around 6:30 am. When she awakes at 3 she wants to nurse. I cannot get her to go back to sleep unless I do this. Is this pattern normal for a 7 mo....

eczema, again by Irrational Number
I've cut out the dairy (except I didn't realize that apple pie crust contained it, so I stopped that today), but after Pillbug's bath tonight, he got completely red all over his body. I think it's caused by the bath soap that we'd been using all along, but how come he's suddenly allergic to...

Taking a bottle by Larry McMahan
If I am right, you baby is 3 mos now. That is a bit early for a sippy cup. I suggest that you try feeding her with an eye dropper if she will not take the bottle. Larry Melissa writes: : Although we've done everything right, DD won't take a bottle. When we first : introduced...

7weeks nursing - I'm starving! by teapot
Breastfeeding has not been the get thin magic I expected. I am as fat as a hippo and hungry all the time. I feel like nothing ever fills me up, and I am going for stuff like pasta and potatos that used to do the trick. Moo is still feeding all the time but I have adjsuted my attitude and just...

Eating solids, drinking water, and daycare by [email protected]
DS is at day care from 6:30 to 5:45 Monday through Friday. I send 18 oz of EBM every day and he usually doesn't drink all of it (sometimes less than 10 oz). On good days, he drinks 15 oz or so at day and sleeps through the night. On bad days, he drinks less than 10 oz and wakes to nurse...

Did you hate bf at first? by [email protected]
Hello, Is there anyone out there that hated breastfeeding at first? DD is 2 weeks old and I really hate breastfeeding. My anxiety starts to rise about 1 hour before each feed because I know she's going to be hungry soon. Every time she fusses the tears well up in my eyes because I know what's...

Q about cows milk by A&G&K
Well, I stopped pumping today. A bittersweet moment. Its just not worth it anymore as I can barely get an ounce now, even with DD ( 14 mo) feeding from the other side. I have only ever pumped once a day for almost a year and I've gone from getting 4 oz per side, to 4 oz total whilst nursing DD /...

is it ok to let them cry a bit? by oregonchick
My daughter is now 6 wks old, and I have a horrible feeling when she cries. I especially can't stand it when she is in the back seat of the car and starts to wail... What do I do? Usually I hurry to find a spot and pull over, climb in the back seat and try to pacify her. I try to feed her,...

Hi everyone! I've been lurking here for a while and recognize many of you from misc.kids.pregnancy. Had my little guy on St. Patrick's Day, and we've been working out breastfeeding ever since. I am trying to feed on demand, but have resorted to offering my pinkie/a pacifier (which he hates and...

Portable freezers? by Suellen
I have never heard of a portable "freezer" . Refrigerator, sure. This looked pretty neat. I saw an ad for it last time I was flying, in the skymall catalog. http://www.skymall.com/webapp/skystore?process=prodDisplay&action=&pid=13220 044&catId=ANY_CAT It is a portable refrigerator that isn't...

Is water needed when strating solids? by Cathy
Hi all, I have read lots of conflicting info on this. I am giving DD (7 1/2 months) water in a sippy cup after she has her solids, mainly because I want her to get used to drinking out of a cup, and EBM is too precious while she is learning! But is the water needed? She is still nursing well - 5...
