how are the 7 month olds? by
teapot
Moo boy has had 2 bottom teeth for 2 days now, but no biting yet
thankfully! My boobs do feel a bit strange though, a bit like they
have been sandpapered, yuck.
Solids are still a very minor part of his diet, he will go for about a
teaspoon of mushed up heated banana but isnt really interested...

Odd places to nurse a toddler! by
Cathy Weeks
Hi all,
We just got back from a vacation in Florida, and I ended up nursing
Kivi (two years old in December) in two kind of unusual places.
1. The beach. I never thought I'd nurse on the beach - because I wear
one-piece swim suits that are just NOT accessible for nursing. But I
forgot my...

US today by
Sue
Anyone read the Sunday's USA weekend magazine that came with the news over
the weekend?
They are running a segment on children's safety and listed 15 new and useful
scientific findings for caring for your infant.
#1 was: Keep baby out of your bed. They say that a new study shows it simply
isn't...

It's a wrap! by
Andrea
I used to post on the OBY-GYN forums, and met a woman on there who got
flamed for taping a blanket round her baby with duct tape.
She has just emailed me as she has now brought a swaddle blanket out show

not sure about milk supply by
K.B.
I was always able to pump at least 4 oz. My milk stash ran out in the
freezer and the baby won't drink anything but bm. For some reason I can
barely get an ounce. One side I can't get anything. He doesn't nurse from
that side. The good side is 3 times the size of the other and he nurses
often. Is...

Eczema in b/f baby by
DC
My 5mnth DD is exclusively bf. She's had a skin infection for the
past 5 weeks and my doc has finally decided it is infected eczema.
She's got meds to ease it but I wondered if I could change/add
something to my own diet to help her.
I read somewhere that dairy in the mums diet could be a...

Update: Possibly joining the gall bladder sx ranks... by
Karen
Saw my GP today. He is pretty sure it's my gall bladder. Surprise,
surprise. I have an ultrasound tomorrow and an appt with the surgeon
next Friday. Dr R said that even if the u/s shows nothing remarkable
that the surgeon could order more tests to see what was going on so I
should just go ahead and...

Breastfeeding - size problems by
ukeXposed
A question on behalf of my wife.
She has one breast slightly larger than the other, always has - not just a
post-pregnancy thing - and baby (8 days old) doesn't take as much of the
larger breast into her mouth than she does of the smaller breast. Any
suggestions of a way she could be encouraged to...

Question about Canned Food (posted on A.I.P as well) by
Rob, Laura and Izabella
Is it alright to give Izabella say some beefaroni and ravaoli and so on, the
kind that comes in a can like chef boyrdee? We can buy the heinz kind here
for toddlers that goes in the microwave, the small yellow kinds but they are
like 2.99 each and its crazy to pay that for such a small can. So I...

where can I get Hale's book? by
Molly Ging
Amazon says it will take 1-2 months to get Medications and Mother's Milk.
None of the local bookstores have it.
Any idea why it take so long to get it? Any other places to try?
TIA

Wiggly nurser by
AlenasMom
Does anyone else have trouble with a wiggly nurser? Alena will latch on,
suck until she gets some milk and then she wiggles her bum! It normally
ends up with her falling off the breast and then getting upset until she
latches again! It was cute the first dozen times, now it's just starting to
be...

I'm wondering if anyone here has had this particular problem. A friend of
mine has a 4 month old baby who EBF's. Every two weeks or so my friend gets
an uncomfortable rash on her nipple/areola. It lasts for a few days, isn't
quite painful but uncomfortable and then the skin peels off and the...

Ot weird thing on arm - excema? by
teapot
The Moo has a cirular thing on his arm, about the size of a 5p bit,
(dunno what that is in American, sorry) It is in exactly the same
place as a scabies track he had but that was treated back in November.
The outside of the circle is a bit scabby and the inside was bumpy.
The inside is now smooth...

Back at work - Thanks for the help by
Ellie
Hi Everyone
Well I'm nearly finished my first run of shifts back at work. (I work as a
registered nurse doing 6 nights on then 8 nights off) and I am proud to say
that despite all my fears I have managed to pump enough to keep my beautiful
twins on breastmilk and not supplement with formula. I...
