Question about weight gain .. by
kylee
I have read that typically a baby will loose weight during the first few
days of life. By the 2nd-3rd week the baby should be back to birth weight,
and gain on an average of 4-7 ounces/week or nearly 2lbs. /month until 3-4
months then this weight gain pattern will slow to 3-5ounces/week.
Is there...

sick baby and plugged ducts by
badgirl
How many of you in the last couple of weeks that have gotten plugged ducts
have also had sick babies? I seem to be remembering about 4 or 5 people that
have said their kids have bad colds or the flu and then another 3 or 4
mentioning plugged ducts. I'm wondering if this little *epidemic* of ours...

I think it's that time by
T
Well everyone, I think it's that time.
I've lurked here for the most part since going back to work full time in
June as I just don't have time to keep up on all the posts. Since then, DS
has been cutting back his "momma sessions" and has now gone 2 days since his
last one with no signs of wanting...

CTTS by
Leslie
When William is sad, he will come to me and say, "I want Ba to make me feel
better." Other times, when he says, "I want Ba," I will ask him why. Some
times he say, "I want Ba to make me happy," and others he says, "I not want to
tell you."
When he has been switch-nursing and one side is more or...

So this morning I had Bub in the bath to try and loosen up some of his
congestion...
Anyway, he gets bored with playing with his tubby toys and looks down at his
chest, discovering his nipples. He pokes, pulls, grabs (ouch) and finally
tries to get one of them into his mouth! Apparently he figured...

Tonight while DD and I were having a bath together, she pointed at right
boobie and said "Mummy Boobie", then pointed at left boobie and said "Daddy
Boobie", squished them together and said (in Teletubbie fashion) "Biiiig
Hug". It was so funny. LOL.
Just thought I'd share...:o)

What a cutie! It must be so interesting to hear what kids have to say
about nursing.
I think that is one of the neatest things about a nursing toddler. You can
wonder what your newborn feels/thinks about nursing, but your toddler can tell
you (if he feels like it, anyway!).

He ate the pear! by
Irrational Number
Today we tried mushed-up pear with NO ebm and I
think Pillbug liked it! DH was feeding him and
there was a LOT more that went in than came back
out. ;) (Maybe DH makes better airplane noises
than I do...)

Any suggestions please? by
PandA Aerospace
I've been bfing DD since she was born on 21st July 2003. However, I've
always found it easier on the right hand side, especially since my left
nipple is inverted, so have mostly fed her on the right (silly, I know, but
I'd like to rectify it now). Because of this, the left side supply...

dehydration and mastitis- what to do? by
trich
I've had severe mastitis and my supply took a deep dip (I'd say it went to
1/2-1/3 on the affected breast, my dominant one). DD, who's 3mon,
seems to be mildly to moderately dehydrated (somewhat dried lips,
significantly less saliva, less wet diapers).
I've kept nursing her through the infection...

it's mastitis by
Anne Rogers
I asked my health visitor for advice and she told me to go see the doctor,
I did, by the time I went to see him part of my right boob had turned
bright red, so definitely infected. I feel lucky that I noticed the sore
breast before I've got any more symptoms, I don't feel 100%, but I still
feel a...

old frozen milk by
Cathy Weeks
Sigh...
I have a huge amount of breastmilk frozen in my deep freeze - most of
it is older than 18 months old. Hundreds of ounces.
Is there anything that can be done with it? Other than throwing it
away? Do any milk banks take milk that old?

Sorry if repost... NYC Sling stuff by

Well, I posted this to MKP and it showed, but the post a minute later,
here, didn't. Go figure.
I'll be in NYC at Upper Breast Side on Dec 22 (Monday) at 11 am. I'll be at
Mama Nurture at 3:30. I'll be helping people with slings and baby carriers,
whatever they need help with. No RSVP needed,...

Well how is everyone?
Moo gets my meticuolsly prepared solids every day but isnt interested
in eating, he just likes to play. He has got this great angled spoon
that he plays with and if there happens to be food on the end of it it
goes in but gets spat out in disgust. I have tried (in order)...

Maternity/breastfeeding shirt by
Spanannie
Here's a shirt that I thought y'all would get a kick out of. I saw it when
doing some online shopping for maternity clothes. The description of the
item says that the shirt comes longer when you order it (it was short for
the fashion show). I think I'm going to order it to wear to...
