Introduction - Gassy 5 month old by
YurtDweller
Hello,
I've been lurking here since my daughter was born the end of March. I've
found your posts to be so helpful. I've been breastfeeding my daughter very
successfully since day one. She has had consistent weight gain of close to
an ounce a day and now weighs nearly 15 lbs, from a birth weight of...

Leaving Breastfeed baby by
Zay&Noah
Hi I'm new to this...but I had to ask a question that has been
bothering me and I wanted some other opinions. I bought tickets while
I was 6 months preggo to Miami for Spring Break. I will be leaving in
about 20 days for a 4 day trip. My newborn will only be 7 weeks old
and is strictly breastfed....

Intro - question for SIL by
Zaz
Hi,
I'm an irregular poster on misc.kids.pregnancy, but this is my first time
around here. So HI to all.
I've got a question for my SIL. She delievered a healthy baby girl last
Saturday, her first. All the nurses (and myself) were amazed at how easy the
baby latched on immediatly, and how content...

The answer to "eating AGAIN?!?!?" by
zeldabee
"Cheryl S." wrote:
I've finally come up with an answer to the question we all get in the
early weeks of breastfeeding, "What? He's eating *again*,
already?!?!"......
How much would you need to eat to double your weight in less than six
months?
Heh.

Not really a birth story, but... by
zeldabee
I've worked on Anton Edward's birth story off and on since we came home
from the hospital, but honestly, it's a bit depressing (though all is well
now), and I've abandoned it for now...so, here's the short version.
He was born Monday, September 8, at 8:09am, weighing 7lbs, 4oz, 21...

Tell me this isn't just gas... by
zeldabee
Bubeleh will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. I've seen him smile many times, but
as part of a repertoire of expressions that pass over his face, and it
seemed almost random, so I figured they weren't "real."
This morning was different, though...We'd had a good night--he wasn't
fussy, didn't stay awake...

sick--need *something*! by
zeldabee
I am, not Sprogly, knock on wood. It feels like the flu, but I don't
actually have a fever. Sore throat, headache, cough, a little congestion,
the runs, yadda yadda. I really wanted some Theraflu last night (my throat
was so painful and raw I couldn't sleep), but I noticed it had some
decongestant...

solids?? by
zeldabee
This may seem like a weird question. Sprogly will be 5 months old in 5 days.
I've not been in *any* hurry to start solids--there's a lot of allergy in my
family, his father is allergic to peanuts--and I hadn't really noticed
anything I could take as a sign that he was ready. He watches when I...

yet another 4-month post by
zeldabee
We seem to be having a nursing crisis, or maybe it's really a sleep crisis,
I hardly know how to pin it down.
First: no sooner do I post that we're not having any problems nursing than
suddenly my nipples are *really* sore. It's actually the inner part of the
areola (about the inner half), around...

I was afraid it would come to this... by
zeldabee
Yesterday, I got a call from daycare at about 4:00 saying that they'd run
out of milk for (4-month-old) Sprogly. I'd sent 20oz, which was more than he
was eating each day last week. He's gone from 12-14oz/day pretty
consistently to about 16-18oz/day last week, and now this. I generally can
pump...

I'm so tempted... by
zeldabee
At the ad agency I work for, we periodically get emails from various
marketing teams asking to pick people's brains if, say, they'd traveled on a
particular airline, or play video games, etc. I just got one asking for
input from new or expectant mothers for an Enfamil campaign. I'm...

Sprogly's 4 month WBV by
zeldabee
He's 26.5 inches long, 15.5 lbs. The weight was a surprise, because I was
sure he'd be at least 16 lbs. But his weight gain has slowed down--65%ile
while it was 75%ile at 11 weeks; he's still in the 95%ile for length. Head
circumference is still almost exactly average.
I went in half expecting the...

thrush question by
zeldabee
Ok: Bubeleh is one month old today. I've had a little soreness in my
nipples, not too bad, but they are a little tender. I was expecting that
they'd get less sore as time went on, but they haven't. (I think our
latch is ok--it doesn't hurt after he's been nursing a while. I have
large nipples and...

What can I do? by
zeldabee
Poor little 3-months-and-one-week-old Sprogly has his first cold. This,
of course, is right after I'd congratulated myself that he hadn't caught
the cold Bloke and I had around Thanksgiving.
He's snuffy and has a cough. He's feverish, his temp is around 100-101F.
Poor little bubby is just...

cheap freezer storage bags? by
zeldabee
Has anyone found a cheaper alternative to breast milk storage bags? 5.99 for
25 is the cheapest I've seen the Gerber bags, and all the other brands are
more expensive. I was looking at regular 2 mil freezer bags, but I don't
think they're presterilized. Is it really necessary that the bags...

My Zoloft saga by
zeldabee
I've posted here about the fact that I've been seeking some kind of help
for PPD (or maybe just depression, whether it's necessarily post-partum or
not). I was on a medication that wasn't compatible with BF (Doxepin) until
I was about 7.5 months pregnant, and stopped taking it specifically so...

paper diapers that don't leak? by
zeldabee
I'm using cloth, but I'd like to use paper diapers when I go out...and I'm
*considering* switching when I go back to work and my son's in daycare. But
every paper diaper I've tried leaks. The (diaper service) cloth diapers
with the Pro-Wrap or Whisper Wrap covers rarely do. Does anyone...

sleeping, night nursing, pumping, daycare (long) by
zeldabee
My son is 15 weeks old (3 months and 2 weeks), and I went back to work
full time when he was 8 weeks old. Except for about 2oz of formula when
he was in the NICU (given against my wishes) he's had nothing but
breastmilk. His weight gain is good, averaging nearly 10oz/week, and he's
grown a lot in...
