Update from Jamie by Jamie Clark
All, Well, if it weren't for the back log at the San Mateo County Courthouse, I think we'd have been Home Study approved and "in the book" at least a week ago, if not more. I sent a request to San Mateo County on May 12th, asking for 2 certified copies of our marriage license (1 for our agency and...

BBT Thermometer vs. Regular digital Thermometer by Shannon
I have been using a digital thermometer to chart my temperatures this week. They have really been all over the place. Is there actually a different between a BBT thermometer and a regular digital one? My thermometer is sensitive to one tenth of a degree. I really don't want to spend the money...

Selecting the best Genes? Please don't respond to debate :) by hvatum
Hello, I've heard of the Repository for Germinal choice, which has sadly shut down. I was wondering if anyone knows of any other efforts to collect sperm of really good looking and extremely intelligent men. So far I've stumbled upon fairfax cryobank, although their selection criteria seems...

Yay, heard the heartbeat! by Cathy
Had an appointment with my midwife today (13 wks 2 days), and the heartbeat was nice and strong. The first time I've heard this one, so that was a relief. The uterus is measuring smack on for dates too, which is good, as there were some initial discrepancies. The heart rate was 160, and...

Name suggestions please by A&G&K
OK ... I'm after any and all suggestions. It feels like pulling teeth to have to ask others for suggestions, but I figure that asking you guys is probably the best bet for a lot of input without any great expectations that we will use your suggestion (unlike my MIL who has been pushing for a name...

Long-distance baby shower by Cheryl S.
My cousin is expecting, and lives ~1500 miles away from the rest of the family. Has anyone had or given a long-distance baby shower, and how did that work? -- Cheryl S. Mom to Julie, 3, and Jaden, 8 months

Everything was great at yesterday's appointment with my Ob ... BP 115/70, I passed my 1 hour glucose screen with flying colours, my antibodies levels were fine (I'm Rh-ve), and the only thing that was a little out of whack was my haemoglobin ... so I've got to remember to take my vitamin tablet...

Rachel gained weight, yay! by Jill
I was worried about her weigh-in today, since the pediatrician was not liking the fact that Rachel did not regain the weight she lost after birth, at her 2 week visit. (At birth, 7 lb 11oz...at week 1 was 7 lb 2 oz ... week 2 was 7 lb 6 oz when they really wanted her to be back at 7/11... etc)....

Mom on her way.... by Fer
Well I figured it was time for an update from me! My Mom is in the air as I type this on her way across country. I haven't seen her in almost a year! Hard to believe it has been so long but with phone calls, pics and emails we definitely stay in touch. She'll be with us for almost a month and...

Ectopic pregnancy by Claudia
Hi all, I need to tap the vast knowledge of this group. I am currently 5w6d pregnant. On Friday, 5w3d, I went to the doctor and she made a sonogram on which she could not find the baby. She checked the HCG levels and they were over 2,000. The doctor assumes an ectopic pregnancy, maybe. I have...

c-section bleeding... by Carla
I had a c-section on May 16th -- I haven't had any problems at all and the incision seems to be healing fine but I did have a question about the bleeding patterns. It seems like in the past week or so that my bleeding goes from sort of brownish red to almost non-existant to brighter red and back...

Anxiety by Leslie
Lately I sometimes feel like I can't draw a deep breath. It is kind of like a weight on or a knot in my chest. I seem to recall feeling like this in my last pregnancy and I think it is some kind of pregnancy anxiety as opposed to a purely physical thing. Has anyone else experienced this or...

Baby fussiness and crying--gas? by Angela Schepers
Every since DS was born he's been fussy and crabby which DH and I can deal with because that's just how some babies are. Over the past couple weeks it has gotten really bad. Usually for 3-4 hours (at least) in the morning he cries or fusses inconsolably and no amount of holding, singing, swinging...
