sleeping, night nursing, pumping, daycare (long) by
zeldabee
My son is 15 weeks old (3 months and 2 weeks), and I went back to work
full time when he was 8 weeks old. Except for about 2oz of formula when
he was in the NICU (given against my wishes) he's had nothing but
breastmilk. His weight gain is good, averaging nearly 10oz/week, and he's
grown a lot in...

Height & Weight Percentile Chart by
Kathy
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a good easy
to read Height and Weight Percentile Chart?
I have one in a book, but it is really difficult to read...the print is
small, and it goes by 3 month chunks and it's really hard to figure out
where DD is on the chart.
Our doctor...

of you who might be going through the same thing.
My son (4 1/2 months) has been having trouble waking during his naps and at
night time. The trouble is that after about an hour of daytime napping he wakes
and is unable...

Sweet Potatoes were a hit! by
Phoebe & Allyson
Thanks to everyone who recommended them. Ah-mah boiled sweet potatoes for
herself tonight, so we gave Caterpillar a couple spoonfuls. Not only did
she eat a teaspoon or two, but she looked disappointed when it was all gone.
We'd tried feeding her a bite of cooked apple just before...

strong on bf, the past two nights leave me wanting to rip my hair out.
both nights were hell on wheels for both of us. She refuses to sleep, and
if she does by chance go to sleep, she sleeps for about a half hour then
wants...

I have to share as I noticed the thread about night feeding. My DD has been

couple of months she was waking every hour to feed and I have been ill for
weeks due to being run down so took the bull by the horns and night...

ABA Subscribers - latest Essence mag by
A&G&K
Well DH managed to recycle the latest edition of the ABA mag on me when
cleaning up before Christmas.
I really wanted to check out the bronze statue "Cherish". I think there was
a separate website to order it to the Mother's Direct site.
If anyone could send me the link I'd be grateful.

FAO Lisa: day/night confusion by
Dagny
One of my nurse friends has suggested that Omega-3 deficiency may be a
cause of day/night confusion -- that it may be treated by having the nursing
mom take fish oil, or otherwise add it to her diet.

The Early Show on CBS: BF debate Wed morning by
Kathy
Just saw a commercial for "The Early Show" on CBS. The woman who hosts
it (don't know her name) said something like this: "Tomorrow on the
Early Show...Breastfeeding. Is it good, or BAD for your baby? The
great debate."
Thought some of you might be interested in watching it. I'm curious...

question about jaundice by
kylee
DS will be 4 weeks old this saturday. When he was 4 days old his bilirubin
level was 16, and down to a 15.2 the next day so his ped said that there
wasn't anything to worry about cause it was obviously going down and it
should be completely cleared up by 2 weeks.
Here we are at almost 4 weeks and...

Name seven advantages of mothers milk.
The student in question had also partied the night before, and was hard put
to think of 7 advantages.
He wrote:
1. It is a perfect formula for the child.
2. It provides immunity against several diseases.
3. It is always available as needed.

Our little mush has spots all over his face which the doctor says is baby acne.
We've been encouraged to let it run its course and simply wash with warm water
a few times daily- no soaps, creams, etc... However I have been noticing that
the condition is red and exacerbated when our baby is laying...

A disheartening experience by
laurie
I was at work the other night (I work at a hospital), and had been told that
there were two LC's on staff in the OB department, one on days and one on
nights. I had met the day nurse/LC last week. Because the hospital is so small,
there are often no OB patients and the OB nurses have to float to...
