Interview opportunity: kids and gifts by
Newsweek
Hi,
I'm working on a story for Newsweek and hoping to interview everyday
parents (not millionaires) who continue to give their children desired
but not necessarily needed material items, even though they may have
suffered an economic setback or have found themselves in worse
financial condition...

Is herbal tea okay for kids? by
cloud nine
DH and I drink green tea, iced with a bit of sugar in it. Our 2.75 year old
drinks it from time to time. I think the antioxidants would be good for
him. But does anyone know if herbal tea is okay for kids to drink every
once in a while or even daily?

baby carrier by
toypup
I have a lot of baby carriers. I like the idea of wearing my baby, but none
of the carriers worked out with DS. Now that I have DD, I get to try again.
I tried DD in the Baby Bjorn and the Maya Wrap Pouch. Like DS, she did not
like it. She cried and I was not comfortable. I bought the Ultimate...

If you take a break from your career for your kids by
ted
How do the recruiters react when you go back to interviews after
couple of years or so? If you tell them you stayed home taking care of
your little kids, will they be appreciative of the fact or will they
be neutral or will they give you minus points?
Overall, how does it affect your career...

Can this be helped? by
bizess
My brother Michael is 16 and I'm really afraid for him. He's always been
kind of a loner, neveer really making any friends and always kinda
doing his own thing. He's a nice kid and funny but we've attended so many
schools it's been hard for both of us to make good friends. He's also
always...

More School Issues (warning: VERY long!) by
Circe
I have been posting on and off since Julian (now in first grade) started
kindergarten about my concerns regarding what I
perceive to be an overly aggressive and academically pressured educational
atmosphere at our elementary school. This post would be even longer than
it's likely to be as it is if...

Thoughts on early reading pros/cons? by
Sidheag McCormack
I'm considering starting to use flashcards to teach DS to read using
something like Glenn Doman's programme - i.e., spending seconds or at most
a few minutes per day doing it, and always stopping if DS isn't interested
right then. I know some people are vehemently anti such programmes. I'm not
very...

bleach for kids' clothes by
ted
I have few white onesies I'm going to re-use for my baby. You won't
believe they are white even if I tell you. They were hand-me-downs to
begin with. I was wondering if it's ok to run them through a bleach
cycle once and wash them again to get rid of the bleach. I plan to do
this only once to get...

What's the most absorbant diaper for a 3½ year old girl by

Long time lurker, first time poster here.
My daughter is 3½, and still in diapers. I'm not here for pottytraining

Anyone parenting a 2(ish) year old? by

I am curious to see what other's meal and snack time schedules are.
What time do you serve breakfast, lunch and dinner (and snacks)? I am
trying to make some adjustments on our own schedule and am interested
to see what others are doing! Thanks in advance!
