Labor Takes Longer For Overweight And Obese Women, Study Finds by
Mum of Two
I have a BMI of 28. I'll be sure not to lose any weight before having any
more children, because with my three hour labours I might end up giving
birth in a car! Thanks for the tip.

why girls are by

We start to "bud" in our blouses at 9 or 10 years old only
to find anything that comes in contact with those tender,
blooming buds hurts so bad it brings us to tears. Enter the
almighty, uncomfortable training bra contraption the boys
in school will snap until we have calluses on our backs.

How do you pick a pediatrician? by
Donna Metler
One of the questions asked when I went into L&D was whether I had a
pediatrician for the baby yet-which I still have to answer no to. Honestly,
given that my insurance is different from my husband's and I'm not sure
which one the baby will be on (I believe she automatically is covered under
mine,...

Getting kicked in the ribs by
Wendy
OUCH! I have two little feet jammed into my ribs ALL the time! Sometimes
they are just 'pushed' up under my ribs on the left side and other times
it's WHAM! WHAM! right into my ribs as hard as she can kick. It can go
from an uncomfortable tickle to pain that has me nearly standing on my
head to get...

Back again, and worried by
L.A.Power
Hi all...
Some of you I remember from my last visit here, about a year and a
half ago. (Congratulations, JennP, what a story!) Well, I'm back! I
just got a positive pg test yesterday. This is number three for me,
and I had planned it. But since I did the test, I've been sick to my
stomach and...

BTDT parents: best baby book? by
Rebecca McGraw
Open for opinions: The best baby-care book for new parents. Assuming, of
course, that you feel that new parents even need a baby-care book, but
I'm a book person and my husband is a librarian, so we're probably going
to end up with something, in any case.
Anyone have any suggestions? Books you've...

Rachel is now 6 months old. We have the Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster

we need our extra kitchen chair for adults when we have company. I wanted...

TLC show on family with 14 kids by
Kelly
Did anyone see this show about the family with 14 kids and one on the way?
Of course, I immediately thought of Andrea :) in a very good way, no doubt.
Anyway, this family had a whole pantry *loaded* with food and had to wonder
if larger families truly stock this way. Andrea? It looked...

Snoring...help! by
Rebecca McGraw
My husband is about to go crazy, even though he knows it's perfectly
normal for 35.5-week-pregnant women to snore. However, I'm already using
two pillows, breathe-right strips, and saline nasal spray, and I'm
sleeping on my side...anyone have any ideas as to what else I can try? I
don't hear myself...

can't sleep... by
Irrational Number
It's past 3 AM and I haven't slept yet... I did
take a little nap around 6 PM, maybe that's why...
Whenever I lay down fully, I get overwhelmingly
nauseous. If I'm surfing or watching TV, at least
the nausea doesn't seem so bad... I guess I have
a few more weeks of this... ;)

reputable homebirth info/stats needed by
Plissken
I would love to have a homebirth but my husband is not at all keen. I am
wondering if anyone out there knows of a reputable website or a good book
that my husband could read to put his mind at ease. I am going to ask my
midwife this week as well but thought I would try here too.
TIA

It's been 2 weeks or so since I've posted b/c I've been so busy with doctor
appts and trying to focus on controlling my diabetes (not gestational, but
totally out of whack due to pg). While I'm grateful to finally be back on
track and on routine, it took forever to get to this point! I am...
