Fioricet for Migraines? by Bóliath
Hi - has anyone taken this pill for migraines? My doc just gave me a prescription for it, but I'm reluctant to take it (or any pill) while pregnant. My migraines have intensified lately and become more frequent which is why he prescribed it but a quick google led me to...

Non-fasting GD screen test level? by P B
Hi, I am at 24th week of my pregnancy and my GD screening test(1 hour, non-fasting) came as 140. I was told to go for a 3-hour glucose tolerance test. What's the normal level for the 1 hr GD screen test? Has anyone else been diagnosed with GD later with such a level in the screening test? Thanks...

Really tender breasts by Cathy
Yeah, I know tender breasts are part and parcel of pregnancy. But at the moment they are so tender that it really hurts to cuddle my 'mummy's girl' toddler (she wiggles so much - at least I can tell DH to be gentle!). I don't remember them being this bad with no. 1 (but then I didn't have...

I'd forgotten how small newborns are! by Cathy
DD (17 1/2 months) and I went to visit a friend in hospital yesterday, with her week old baby (horror c-section, hence the length of stay). And I was lucky enough to be the only able bodied person around to change the poopy nappy. Boy, what a difference from a 17 1/2 month old!! And he was...

Kind of OT... just found out I have a sister!!!! by Jody Pellerin
If any of you may remember by chance me ever mentioning my real father, I might have mentioned I haven't seen him in over two years. He's a low life which I don't want anything to do with. (A LOT of abuse as I grew up, drugs, affairs, etc) Well He's emailed me and what not, came right down to...

Babies give themselves HUGE transfusions! by Todd Gastaldo
BABIES GIVE THEMSELVES **HUGE** TRANSFUSIONS! Huge transfusions, that is, unless OBs stop them from transfusing themselves! "Immediate clamping of the umbilical cord can reduce the red blood cells an infant receives at birth by more than 50%..." --Mercer JS. J Midwifery Womens Health. 2001...

A line is a line, right? by Someone
I'm 11dpo today. I did a test about midmorning and it's come up positive but only very faintly. It's a Discover One-step, and the positive line is so faint that I have to take it into the sunlight to see it, artificial light seems to blank it out. Now I'm not sure how I feel about this (which is...

Car/child safety by aml
OK...my in-laws were here for a few days very recently. It's the first time we've seen them in about 6 months, and it gave me time to see if they could possibly handle DS visiting them (without us)in a few weeks. I have a few concerns which I'm not sure I can get over, but which I'll probably get...

Don't mess with the irritable pregnant chick ;) by M Wayne
So I was at the drugstore today and the clerk said to me "Is your baby due soon?" and I replied "In a little more than 5 weeks." Well, she paused for a moment and asked, "Oh, are you having one or two?" It was all I could do not to smack her. But I calmly replied, "Just one" although I think it was...

I had this with my last pregnancy and now I feel it starting up again. I can't remember whether there are vitamins that are supposed to help. Does anyone have suggestions to offer, anecdotal or otherwise? TIA, Leslie

The Labor Preparedness Experts - Bradley, Yoga, etc... by Elric
So it's now time to find a childbirthing class. (I'm at 25 weeks). Bradley method looks good, as we're planning a natural childbirth in a birth center. Unfortunately, the Bradley instructor sounds like such a know-it-all. Then again, so do most of the Pregnancy Yoga instructors I've encountered....

Benjamin's birth story and pictures (kinda long) by Sandi
Sorry it's taken me a while to get around to posting this, but I haven't been spending a whole lot of time at the computer lately! :) I was scheduled to be induced on Monday, May 24 at 1pm (purely for convenience...something I know most of you on here would discourage, but I was fine with it!).
