Is it thrush? Three year old nursing by
RockyCoast
Help - itching and pain. My three year old nurses once or twice a day.
We co-sleep and he will nurse a little when he goes to sleep and once
or twice if he wakes during the night. I know I'm still producing milk
but for the most part I pretty much feel the whole nursing thing, milk
production thing...

mad - or not by
Anne Rogers
I've mentioned in passing that my DS, 3 1/4 is very small, we've got to the
point where we are having further investigations.
My biggest concern is not his absolute size, but what if he gets ill and
then has problems because he has no resources to fall back on, it just
dawned on me that I have...

I couldn't wait... by
[email protected]
I meant to wait until Friday to take The Test, but my powers of delayed
gratification failed me... Anyway, #2 appeared on the pee stick (which
Micah then tried to eat), so according to the babycenter calculator, we
should meet him/her around April 22. :) DH and I aren't telling
anyone yet, but I...

so I was all ready to pump first thing this morning, I woke up with my right
breast feeling achy, which seems to be just a case of it being fuller than
it has been for a while, Ada fed, which reduced that feeling slightly, then
it was pump time, which got me same as yesterday less than an ounce...

Rotating stash -- good idea? by
Carlye
I have heard it preached many a time that one should rotate their stash
of frozen EBM. Okay, fine, makes sense. But what are the implications
of this on the benefits of mom's antibodies?
DS -cannot- get sick. A cold is fine, but croup, RSV, influenza, etc.,
could be fatal. When I start back at...

Honey I suckled the kids by
lucy-lu
Well, DH and I watched the program last night. I was surprised how in to it
DH was, and I was glad that he was as it gave us a good chance to discuss
parenting.
He was surprised how much of it he agreed with - and said, well, surely a
lot of that is normal parenting - especially as you're a SAHM....

Tiny lumps in nipple by
Mum of Two
My right nipple has been sore recently and I've noticed a couple of very
small lumps, like grains of sand under the skin in the nipple. They're not
visible to the eye, but I can feel them by pulling the nipple upwards
between my fingers. I think I may have caused it by feeding side-lying on my...

This just made me madder than... by
Jo
Okay I can't think of anything that can come close to how angry I am
about this.
I wrote TLC and hope a few other mums do the same.
I would love to see some of the dads here write as well.

Is letting a baby sleep on your chest a big no-no? by
cjra
I've seen elsewhere people comment that they're 'bad parents' for
letting their baby sleep on their chest (I have asked there as well).
Is this like sleeping on the stomach and another SIDS risk?
DD *always* naps on my chest during the day. It's the only way to
assure a nap that's greater than 30...

Other parenting boards by
Mum of Two
Do many of you post/read elsewhere except here? I noticed La Leche League
International has a new bulletin board feature, but honestly I haven't spent
a lot of time on there. There are a lot of leaders and experienced
breastfeeders, and you're preaching to the choir there - or at least there...

Update - nursing and pregnant by
Amy Austin
Well, you all were right (as usual), it's getting easier.
I think I'm right around 8 weeks, and nursing isn't nearly as bad as it
was when I posted about it before. I still catch my breath when she
latches on, but after that it's comfortable, as it was before. Thank
God! She's teething AGAIN...

Breastfeeders who pump and give a bottle when out? by
cjra
Is there anyone here who does this?
I just wonder how common it is. On another board, someone had suggested
to avoid offending people by NIP, they pump and give a bottle when
they're out. Of course I said this was ludicrous, heck, one of the joys
of BF is that my boobs are portable and always...

balancing supply with a 10 week old by
[email protected]
According to my lactation consultant, I had or have a low supply. (This
was based on DD gaining only 5 ounces in 10 days when she was three and
a half weeks.) She recently put me on fenugreek and Mother's Milk tea.
It is working as my boobs feel fuller and leak on the left side.
However DD's...

High Volume MP3 Damage Hearing by

MP3 players should carry warnings that users risk damage to their
hearing by having the volume too high, a deafness charity says.
A Royal National Institute for Deaf People poll of 10s of MP3 users at
one London station found eight out of 10 had machines at more than 80
decibels.

Snacking vs feeding. by
JJ
My internet, or rather access to Google has been out almost since DS
was born 7 weeks ago and I've been dying to get info on this. He's
much more of a snacker then feeder, and for the most part I don't mind,
but nights are driving me nuts. For instance, he'll go down around
8pm after nursing...
