39 wk update by
Irene
Well, at my OB appt today, my OB predicted that he won't see me at my
next scheduled appt on the 8th. ;-) I think that's based on ds being
4 days early, and the fact that this one dropped a few weeks ago and
hasn't budged. No internals or anything - he's just guessing. ;-) My
4/4/04 baby is...

OMG - Todd was right by
Cam & Shane
At the antenatal class last night we watched a video on all the different
positions in labour and delivery. Only one showed the mother lying down
and that was on her side and it was only used to slow down the 2nd stage.
All the others were so the torso was upright!!! The lady who took the...

Physical Therapy by
Angela Schepers
Well, I just got back from my consultation with a physical medicine
doctor and as it turns out I have a misalignment of the pelvis, in both
joints in the back of my pelvis though more on the right than on the
left. The doc said he could even feel it by placing his hands on the
back of my hips. I...

Morning sickness medication questions by
P B
I am 13 weeks pregnant and have been going through really bad "whole
day sickness" from week 5.5 and on. As I wasn't able to keep anything
down, the doctor prescribed me first phenergan and then
zorphan(because Phenergan made me sleepy all day long which is a
problem at work). I have been taking...

Names - suggestions please! by
pcb
When it comes to choosing a girl's name my DH and I aren't having any
problems. In fact, we have too many since there are so many that I
like. But a boy's name is a totally different matter. None of them
jump out at me and say "this is the one". Plus, the DH and I don't seem
to have the same...

Midwife appointment, first ever.... by
Jill
Today was a great day! I had my midwife visit, my first ever, and it is
definitely settled-- I have requested my complete records from my old OB and
am changing to the midwife practice. They work independently of the OBs that
they have a working agreement with (ie, they aren't employed under the...

Alexandra's birth story by
Coccinella
Hello Ladies,
I finally got some time to write Alexandra's birth story.
Last week at my last prenatal appointment I talked to my dr and I asked her
opinion about having the scheduled c-section.
She was lovely, very nice and patient and explained to me all the scenarios
considering the estimate of...

Owen's Birth Story by
Shelly
Well, it has been just over a week, and I finally have time to try to
post our birth story. It got way longer than I expected, so here is
the really short version: Owen Muhannad was born on 3/17/04 at 10:01
pm after 5 ½ hours of active labor and ½ hour of pushing and with no
tears(not bad for my...

vent (a little long) (Poster is AKA Kat) by
Maggie'sMom
I just had a pretty fair sized arguement with my DH and don't really
have anyone to vent to at the moment so I thought I might use this
venue. anyway, Dh came home and said that he needed to send his boss
an email (I had just told him that I had a bad afternoon with DD and
DS, and needed a break...

Multivitamins and bloating during first trimester by
Love to Travel
I am about 7 weeks pregnant and I feel bloated and all food(however
tasty may it be to others) is not tasty to me. This type of bloating
discomfort I have felt whenever in my life I have tried to take
multivitamins. Under normal circumstances I therefore have always
discontinued taking mutivitamins...

My DH by
melbgal1
I keep catching him looking at me like he could explode with happiness
and pride and love. And to think I had to talk him into this ! :)
Well, he might change his tune when the baby becomes a *leetle* more
noisy and demanding outside of my tummy :)
But I think he's going to be a great father :)

Question about AF post-partum by
Cathy
Prior to DD's conception, I had long cycles of 39-45 days, with the odd one
at 28-30, and occasionally I'd miss one, just to throw things out totally.
How have others found their periods post-partum - same as before, longer,
shorter, totally out of whack? Just trying to get others experiences so...
