Sharp pain early by Lizmonster
Hi everyone, I'm about four weeks along, and everything has been going normally...except twice now I've experienced a VERY sharp (but quite brief - one instant and it's gone) pain on the left side of my abdomen. The first time it happened was about a week ago, when I stood up very quickly - just...

Petite Maternity Online or Catalogs??? by Whit6176
Hi all, I've looked through old postings on the site and didn't find a whole lot of information. I'm looking for good online sites or catalogs for petite (short lengths) maternity clothes. I'm mostly looking for pants in shorter inseams. I'm 5'3 and most regular jeans or pants are WAY too long on...

Pay Extra for Private Room? by Usenet Fan
We're planning to have the baby at a hospital, attended by midwives. Normal stay would be two nights for a vaginal delivery, four for a C-section. 100% covered by insurance if we have the standard double room. But I just found out I have the option of requesting, and paying extra ($228 US) per...

First ultrasound question... by Jill
The first ultrasound they do, at 8-10 weeks, is this an abdominal or a vaginal ultrasound? I am just wondering since they didn't specify but I am guessing they would have to do a vaginal one first? Then the remaining ones they do if all is normal, those are abdominal, right? Jill

oh no! by Angela
Ok, so I've had an interesting development. I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and am getting married in 9 days. But my problem is that I've noticed that I have either poison ivy or oak in the corners of my lips and on my eyelids. I've had this several times before on my face and I seem to be...

I am now 30 weeks pregnant with my third baby, feeling the baby kick regularly. Lately, I've been getting these strange movements, and I'm curious as to what they are. Ben's Birth Story (long) by Karen
Well, Ben is 10 days old. I should write his birth story before I lose all the details. He was due sometime between September 5 and September 10. I had myself convinced the whole pregnancy that he would come early. Ben had his own ideas. September 10 came and went without all that much going on. I...

First check by Ilse Witch
I went for my first check-up at the birth center yesterday, and spend quite some time waiting, since a woman was in labour upstairs and there was only one midwife on duty.
