Hi all. I haven't posted in a while as things have been busy but good. Here's the dilemma. My son is in kindergarten. There is a boy who insists on hanging around with my son all the time. This kid is really bad news. He is constantly at the principles office for swearing, hitting and stealing...

Hi everyone! We had a bit of a scare yesterday -- another one! -- and I'm about to do some research online to figure out exactly how upset I should really be, and whether I should make a complaint to the hospital; I know there are some medical types reading here, and a lot of parents who've been...

Is this what's in store for children... by Kane
Recently a Christian fundamentalist front organization, by invitiation, gained access to a federal agency, after many years of lobbying. They were invited and welcomed by ageny top administrators. For what purpose? To "assist" (that is write) in creating the language of an amendment to a law that...

Potty training by Brian
My son turned 3 in July and really hasn't shown much of an interest in using the toilet. He's peed on there a few times but for the most part, he wants no part of it. He'll only try when he thinks he'll get something out of it. I put him in regular underwear today and he peed in them. Right...

"no gifts, please" by Sara
We're going to have a party to celebrate Ollie's first birthday next month. We don't want guests to feel like they have to bring a present, and Ollie has enough stuff anyway. I know we could write "no gifts, please" on the invitations (well, OK, type it, because it'll probably be done by e-mail)....

Update: keeping cast dry by toypup
The bags around the arm held with tape didn't work. When we got the cast, I was told he could have a waterproof liner with it. Together with the fiberglass cast, I wouldn't have to worry about the water. Thank goodness. $25 well-spent.

Difficult 3 Yr Old by ebischoff
We are about to give up on potty training our 3.5 Yr Old. We have tried everything, the Dr. Phil method, reward systems (both snacks and trips to fun destinations like Chuck E Cheese), letting him wear underwear, and still nothing but the occassional potty use. This, like everything else, is...
