Naomi is here... and I am late by
Stephanie and Tim
in posting this. I have to be quick though. She was born on 9/20 and weighed
7lbs and 14oz. She is adorable; she looks a lot like her brother did when he
was a baby. She nursed successfully after delivery. And has been a champ in
that department since. We had a couple of rocky minutes after she had...

End of an Era by
Circe
Well, it's done. I have officially left the ranks of breastfeeding moms: I
haven't nursed my youngest son (3y11m) since last Sunday morning. It wasn't
exactly a mutual decision--he asked me for "side sides" several times a day
for almost all of last week--but I think he's finally come around. I...

Ovulating while breastfeeding by
Carlye
Is there anyway to encourage ovulation while breastfeeding? DS is 15
months old. We haven't followed the rules of LAM since he was a few
weeks old, yet my period hasn't returned. I am down to breastfeeding
only once or twice in the evening, and then at night. There is
usually at least a 12-14...

domperidone and fenugreek forever? by
KC
My dd is 8 weeks now. We had a slow start (which mirrored the
troubles I had with my first dd), but with the help of fenugreek and
domperidone we have made it this far. I also still eat oatmeal 2x a
day. I also took blessed thistle inititially, but cut it out with no
ill effects to my milk...

Scheduling Feedings and sleep by
Sapphire Spiral
For the past month my DD has been stretching out her day feedings.
Along with this she has been waking and feeding more at night. She
has been waking every 2 to 3 hours. At some point I know that she
will start sleeping through the night again, but I was wondering if
part of the problem is that...

bottle is easier... by
E
maybe it's just me, but my milk flows much faster than the bottle,
especially with a let down. it seems like I am trying to drown my DD
sometimes. she gets very frustrated id she has to suck more than once or
twice instead of just swallowing. She's 7 weeks old. I'm hoping this will
taper off...

Learning to let down for pump? by
Sidheag McCormack
Has anyone out there initially had a lot of trouble letting down for a pump
and later learned to do it? (Or should I resign myself to never being able
to?) Any tips?
I tried an Avent Isis, then bought an Ameda Lactina (= Purely Yours; it's
known as Lactina outside the US it seems) in the hope that...

I have no idea if anyone has seen the other two posts I read about my 9.5
month old's nursing strike. I feel a bit upset that no one answered either
of my posts . . . but maybe something's happening that...

Made my first goal :) by
Azure
My daughter turned one on Friday, and we are still nursing up a storm!
misc.kids.breastfeeding is where I first realised what an important thing
breastfeeding is, that it can be hard, and that I might need to persevere.
While we've had a pretty uneventful year, and I have mostly been lurking,
but...

Cloth diaper advise needed by
peggy-o
I recently started using cloth diapers on my son who is now 6 months
old. The first time I used them his runny breastmilk poop got all over
his dipaer cover. Any advise on how I can prevent that so I don't need
to change the diaper cover every time he poops (which is almost
everytime he eats and...

2 month checkup! by
V.
Madeline is now 2 months old...how time flies!
She weighed in at a nicely average 11lbs, but is a lanky 24 inches long (95
%ile)!
Anyone have advice about car seats? At this rate she will outgrow the
infant seat by height well before she meets the weight requirement of the
toddler seat I had...

baby hair barrettes by
V.
OK, Madeline's hair is now long enough to be getting in her eyes, but not
long enough to really stay back when brushed. She's only 8 months, but had
a few inches of hair when she was born. I bought some "baby" size
barrettes, and then realized that she could choke on them if they came out....

need encourgement/advice by
Lmv
Im hoping some one here can help me. My baby is 13 weeks old and has only
been breastfeed. I work full time, I can not scale back my hours and I can
not get to my baby at all during the day to nurse. She is now drinking 22OZ
of EBM per day and there is no way I can pump that much. I have taken...

Leaky breasts in pregnancy by
cjra
Everything I've read says it's normal to leak in the last month of
pregnancy, but how normal is it *not* to leak?
Did you leak? and if not, any association with when/how well your milk
came in?
I leaked ~week 22-25, but nothing since then (now at 38w)
