inspiring NIP (or, semi-public) experience by
Melania
Hi all,
I usually just lurk, but I wanted to share a little story with you. DH
and I just moved back to Vancouver after a stint away, and we're in a
totally new neighbourhood. I recently went to a local 0-5 playgroup at
a nearby community centre, and met an athletic-looking woman with very
active...

CTTD by
Dawn Lawson
DS is just figuring out how to get into sitting position if he ends up
face down (he doesn't crawl, so can't put knees under and go, has to
sit, then one foot down, and opposite hip/thigh to move...FAST), and how
to roll over at night and sleep on his belly.
Today's been a long and busy day,...

Scheduling? by
Melissa
SIL keeps wondering (aloud, to her mother and father who live here and are
already concerned about my parenting) when I'll be putting DD on a schedule.
I keep telling her that I'm not going to since it's not important to either
of us. I mention that I don't eat at the exact same times every day nor...

Weaning 12 months? by
Eric & Windy
I am looking for a little advice. My DD recently turned a year and seems to
be weaning herself. We have gone from 5 feedings to three feedings a day
pretty quickly. Is this ok? Should I just follow her lead, or should I try
to nurse her more?
There seems to be a wide range of what the *normal*...

Sleeping Troubles for my Guy, HELP! by
New York Jen
Mister Laszlo has been pretty good about sleeping for a very long time,
until the last month or so. I should say that we tried to cosleep, but he
had always considered our bed more of a playground than a place to relax, so
it was not happening. The last several weeks, he's been getting up...

CBS's Yes Dear this season by
Belphoebe
Last season, the character Kim was pregnant. (Was there ever a birth
episode? I must have missed it!) This season, they've suddenly age-leaped
the "baby" so she's two (without aging the other children at all--poor
rapidly aging kid). I've always hated when sitcoms do this, and now I have
a new...

hormones? by
K.B.
What hormones do you have alot of when your nursing? I'm asking because I
get seizures before my period and I know it has to do with the estrogen
levels before my period. Since I've been nursing I haven't had any.
Progesterone is supposed to help. I was just curious.

Arghhh - stupid comments by
A&G&K
Is anyone experiencing an epidemic in stupid comments from well-meaning (but
stupid) people lately?
I met a woman at playgroup yesterday (who's DS is about the same age as my
DD) who was absolutely flabbergasted when she found out that not only am I
"still" breastfeeding DD (almost 14 mo), but...

thrush question by
zeldabee
Ok: Bubeleh is one month old today. I've had a little soreness in my
nipples, not too bad, but they are a little tender. I was expecting that
they'd get less sore as time went on, but they haven't. (I think our
latch is ok--it doesn't hurt after he's been nursing a while. I have
large nipples and...

scuse me while I scream!! by
mitch
Emma has started refusing to feed. She'll be chomping furiously at
her thumb and fussing 'cause nothing's coming out and looking at me as
if I'm some she devil who isn't getting the hint. When I offer the
breast she arches her back away and starts screaming. Can get pretty
embarrassing when out...

I just got a +ve HPT!!!!

of really trying (bbt and mucus calcs, ovulation pinpointed etc) on top of
what must have been almost a year of not really trying but not taking bc.

Hales Lookup Please by
Sunnyflower999
Hi All,
I have a 6 month old son which I'm happily breast feeding without problems.
However I have a need to use a cream called Bayer Mycospor (10g - Bifonazole
10mg, Urea 400mg) topically. Could someone please do a Hales look-up on this
product for me?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,

Dumb questions about a 9 month old by
Cathy
Am I right in thinking that teething will cause big changes in feeding
habits? Our little gannet for solids has gone to only wanting mummy, and
then only sometimes - she lets me know very clearly if she doesn't want
milk.
Also, should I now be giving solids before nursing? (well, when the...

solids at 10 months by
Shannon G
Okay, I've heard from everyone and everything I've read that, until one year
of age, solids are for learning and experimenting and should only make up
50% or so of the diet. Is that because theoretically they may not want to
eat much in the way of solids or because they shouldn't?
DD is 10 1/2...

I nursed in public today :) by

Okay, so it wasn't the first time but it was all about where I did it.
If anyone if from the Detroit Michigan area and is familiar with Sommerset
Mall you'll understand.
This is the hoity toity mall... VERY hotsy totsy. And there I was... smack
dab in the middle of the mall nursing DS. I was so...
