Is a 16 month ready for weaning? by Jenny Ryan
I'd appreciate tips and advice on weaning a 16 month old. She's down to 1 feed a day - the reunion feed after I pick her up from the childminder's (I work full-time). When we get home she's like a boob-junkie! Cross, irritable, clingy, whingy until she gets her feed and then she's a different...

Refusing left side by Cheryl S.
DS (2.5 months old) has refused to nurse on my left side for 12 hours now, since 9:00 this morning. He is clearly hungry yet cries and acts very annoyed when I offer the left side and will not latch, but then nurses eagerly off the right side. What is going on? I've tried football hold to no...

finger foods for baby with no teeth by ted
My dd is 8.5 months old. She doesn't have any teeth yet. Can she get any finger foods at this age that will keep her occupied when we're having lunch? She jumps at us and grabs our plates while we eat. So I was wondering if I can give some food to play or eat while we're also eating. I know even if...

update to: yet another fertility question (gross sorry) by ted
I finally got my period after 43 days. So I figured it "could be" anovulatory (neg hpt). I started to chart my BBTs since yesterday. One question though.. are anovulatory periods characterized by very heavy bleeding? It's been horrible. The flow kept me awake last night. I was wondering if this is...

Nursing and crying (confusion??) by [email protected]
My DS is now 15.5 weeks old. I went back to work when he was 12 weeks old and he started taking EBM in a bottle during the day. Prior to returning to work, I gave him one bottle of EBM a day for a couple of weeks. He's not very good at it (or doesn't want to be very good at it) and only takes...

Thrush help again, please! by Lora R
Hello, My son is now 8 weeks old, and we've been battling a mild (not in the milk ducts) case of thrush for a week or so. At this point I'm not sure what more to do. How do you know when thrush is gone? Here is what we've done so far: -Diflucan for me -Acidophilus for me

I kept on putting Kam down as soon as he bit me, and it worked! I am so happy! Nursing is so wonderful right now, the way he breaks into a big beaming smile part way through a feed - so cute! -- Andrea mom of 5 - latest addition Kamron David 5 months 20lbs

sleep sleep hooray! by teapot
Ahh, took the moo out for a long walk yesterday and to see the Heath Visitor, she said to do the scabies lotion again, so I was fully expecting a hell fo a night, nursing every hour and having to wash hands and boobs before every feed then reapply lotion - but The Moo slept (drum roll) from 7 to...

Breast feeding... Day 18 by K-K ~Glass Boobs~
Well its getting easier, but still frustrating. DS gets confused if he has his soother right before the breast and will start chomping rather than sucking, but a quick re-latch usually does the trick. The latest emotional hurdle: It is obvious that one breast (lefty) is full of milk where as...

Finding Large Nursing Bras by Ghostwriter
Hello All, First time posting to this group, so please forgive any horrible faux pas that I commit out of ignorance. I am looking for speciality shops that can supply nursing bras for my very large chested wife. She is a 34I in US sizes or a 34G in european sizes. I have tried google searching...

"random" nursing and breast health by Dawn Lawson
Ok, I'm starting to accept that DS's nursing interest may not rally, and that his schedule might be a bit "random" (He nursed twice this afternoon outside of naptime, unheard of for quite a while now. Nursed to sleep for nap and bed. Didn't nurse yesterday at all, iirc.) Do I need to worry about...

So frustrated by Cheryl S.
DS nursed once last evening on the left side only when I tried lying down, and once during the night, but this morning is still refusing, even when lying down. No matter what I do, he will not nurse on my left side. He won't even latch. He just screams around the nipple. This is the third day...
