old daughter quite extendedly. Now is our sweet Halli's (who was born in

OT - changing sleep arrangements by
Akuvikate
The Bug is now co-sleeping with us full time on my side of the bed and
pretty much has to be glued against my body all night long. She falls
asleep by coming to bed with me -- if she falls asleep after 8pm but
before I go to bed, I put her in the co-sleeper and she invariably
wakes up within an...

little house on the priarie ( bottle feeding) by
ted
When I was on maternity leave I used to watch lot of TV. I noticed
that in one of the episodes Ma Ingalls has a son after the three
girls. The baby was shown being fed by a bottle. It was an infant and
he dies soon after due to some fever or something. I thought the
storyline is set around the time...

How often nursing? by
Melissa
DD is 9.5 months old and is eating three meals a day. How often should she
be nursing? What is the minimum?
She currently nurses six times a day, but two seem to be for comfort more
than for food. Here is her schedule:
6 a.m. (when she wakes up)
Breakfast at 7 a.m.
8 a.m. (before her nap and then...

Lann's 4 month WBV by
Em
My DS was 4 months old on Wednesday and had his four month WBV on Friday. I
feel so pleased and proud about how healthy he is and how he is growing. He
is 17 lbs 2 oz now and 27 inches (90th and 99th percentiles respectively)!
He has more than doubled his birthweight and put on 6 inches! I think...

OT Flame retardant sleepwear by
Beth
Hi everyone,
Thought I'd ask tis bunch of mothers-in-the-know about the hazards (if any)
of flame retardants used on children's pajamas. I've heard this and that in
the news about the pervasive flame retardants in mattresses, furniture,
carpets, etc., that apparently pose a number of risks,...

No cry sleep? by
Alina
I recently read Liquid's post about baby not wanting to let go off the
brest (I wish Liquid the best of luck with that), and many answers
mentioned the No Cry Sleep technique. What is that? My 2month DD has
a bad habit of waking around 12 pm and just not wanting to go back to
sleep, breast or no...

What is the stuff in the temporary filling? I know it is zinc oxide and
eugenol (clove oil) for pain and bacteria relief. Is this sometihng the
dentsist adds to the zinc oxide or is it mixed in with it. Can the doc keep
the euganol out for BF mums?
Is it safe if you are breastfeeding?

convincing ds to drink milk in the day time by
Anne Rogers
ds is 8 months old this week, in the last couple of weeks he has really
figured out that breast is the best way to get his milk and ebm in a
bottle is just not a good thing. The problem with this is he's started
waking regularly in the night to get his food. I've been enjoying the
extra rest and if...

Learning to let down for pump? by
Sidheag McCormack
Has anyone out there initially had a lot of trouble letting down for a pump
and later learned to do it? (Or should I resign myself to never being able
to?) Any tips?
I tried an Avent Isis, then bought an Ameda Lactina (= Purely Yours; it's
known as Lactina outside the US it seems) in the hope that...

Hi,
I wanted to know for those of you with soft leather sofa and kids, do the

Are they hard-wearing? I want to buy a couple, but not if they are going to

Thanks,

Update re (least) common allergens via breastmilk by
Sidheag McCormack
Someone asked for me to post what the outcome was after my trying the very
boring diet in the hope of finding something in my usual diet that DS was
reacting to. So the conclusion is...
.... what I eat makes no difference whatsoever :-/
I got excited to begin with as we had a good day right at...

yet another 4-month post by
zeldabee
We seem to be having a nursing crisis, or maybe it's really a sleep crisis,
I hardly know how to pin it down.
First: no sooner do I post that we're not having any problems nursing than
suddenly my nipples are *really* sore. It's actually the inner part of the
areola (about the inner half), around...

Fist Sucking? by
Zucca4
The one thing that really undermines my nursing confidence is my 8 week old's
tendency to suck on his fist like a madman, even minutes after a nursing. I
was under the assumption that this was a feeding cue especially when he would
also open his little mouth and turn his head to the side, however...

In my drs office ~ you would have been proud! by
Andrea
Hi all,
My PPD has been getting very bad for me - for all of us. My d/h has been
taking care of the kids, taking them to school dressing them. I haven't been
functioning.
Last time I went to my doc for anti-depressants I was told I could have them
as long as I was happy putting Kami at risk of...
