I don't get it, why do you HAVE to cut a boy's hair just because
it gets long. Do any of you ask your son's if they WANT to?
Erm.
He's 10 months old today.
I COULD ask him, but his English is pretty limited.

instant oatmeal DIY by
Dawn Lawson
You can avoid the sugar and salt and go organic, or whatever floats your
boat:
3 cups quick oats
Salt
6 plastic sandwich bags
Put 1/2 cup oats in blender and blend at high speed until powdery.
Reserve in a small bowl, then process another 1/2 cup oats. Into each
bag, put 1/4 cup unchopped oats, 2...

water at night by
Dawn Lawson
DS is nearly 16mo
he's not nearly sleeping thru, but will not nurse at night, wanting
soother or a drink of water (or to come to my bed). He rarely is awake
for any length of time in the night, but wakes frequently (I know, get
out my copy of NCSS...)
Does anyone have reasons why I need to be...

hmmmmm, nursing strike? by
Dawn Lawson
I know, I know....same thing from me again.
DS hasn't nursed much at ALL in about three days. Most of the time,
he's not even nursing to sleep. And I'm not engorged at ALL.
I'd hate to think I missed our last session, kwim?
He's only 14 mo, so I wonder if this is a strike and not a...

"extended" nursing and supply by
Dawn Lawson
Ok, so 14 months into this.... ;-)
I really wonder how much milk DS is getting. He fairly often falls
asleep against me, without nursing...just wants a face full of booby And
letdowns take FOREVER, and now that I don't feel them much at all I only
have his swallowing to go on...which suggests...

HELP! 9mo doesn't like formula (crossposted slightly) by

How about *this* plan of action:
Instead of telling people to ignore medical advice, since you have *no*
credentials yourself, suggest that people take Hale's book as a cite, and

frenums, GOOD pics in presentation by

http://www.brianpalmerdds.com/frenum.htm
Went a-googling after I noticed DS's upper lip frenum (under top lip at
centre front) looks thick and long, just like in the pics in the
presentation, (In fact I wondered at first if he'd sucked the inside of
his upper lip between his front teeth) and I'm...

Picnic in park was fine, very hot (29C, hot for here this time of year)

ok, but uploading to website not. will try to get some pics.
But....drumroll........

childcare again by
Dawn Lawson
Color me bitter and jaded, I guess.
Seems that daycares in this area are a) full, b) not taking infants
under 19mo, c) not taking PT children, d) not approved for subsidy.
I need so damn little childcare....3 spells of about 4 hrs each and
maybe an evening here and there
Anyone have any good ideas...

Eczema in b/f baby by

My 5mnth DD is exclusively bf. She's had a skin infection for the
past 5 weeks and my doc has finally decided it is infected eczema.
She's got meds to ease it but I wondered if I could change/add
something to my own diet to help her.
I read somewhere that dairy in the mums diet could be a...

water for newborns? by
ddan-n-zlatka
My wife and I just had our first (only?) child and have had daily
discussions about giving the baby water in addition to breastfeeding.
To this end our baby feeds regularly and is very healthy (knock on
wood), but my wife insists that giving the baby is beneficial and I
say that in all the...
