Is this mastitis? by
Cathy
O.k. I'm puzzled. I have had mastitis a few times (fever with red, hard
breast), and plugged ducts more times than I can remember now (just red,
swollen, very tender segment on breast - no fever). Now I have something
different! About a quarter of my areola is red, with a bit of...

Can you ladies please tell me if this is normal. My baby is 4 days old

hours yesterday. By the evening my breast were still very very full and
painful so I pumped some out. Last night she was up almost all night crying
but...

is this normal by
maya
Hi,
My DS (12 days old and 3 weekd before due date) seems to want to sleep
more than 4 hours at times. I have to wake him up to nurse and most
times I am unsuccesful in waking him up. When he does wake up, he
normally only nurses for about 10 minutes on one breast and that's it.
He has plenty of...

Is this normal? by
Momof3
I am just curious if this is normal or not. It seems that when I
am feeding my baby, I get extremely tired all of a sudden. It
happens not every time, but pretty frequently.
Has this happenned to anyone else?

Is this normal? by
Karlee in Kansas
Hi all, I've been lurking here for quite some time, and now that my DD has
made her arrival into this world I have a few questions.
First off a little background. My DS was born 1-21-97, and I was only able
to breastfeed him for 6 weeks because my dr was insistent at me going on
the pill right...

Is this Reflux? by
Andrea S
Erin is now 3 weeks old.. we thought she may have colic at first, but she
doesn't cry non-stop. She feeds, then shortly after latching on and sucking
she is full of wind, I burp her and she vomits enough that I need to use
cloths to clean/catch it. Then she cries and wants the breast again...

Is water needed when strating solids? by
Cathy
Hi all, I have read lots of conflicting info on this. I am giving DD (7 1/2
months) water in a sippy cup after she has her solids, mainly because I want
her to get used to drinking out of a cup, and EBM is too precious while she
is learning! But is the water needed? She is still nursing well - 5...

Isabella's 2 month Stats by

Well, I have a pretty chunky monkey of a girl. :-)
75%ile in height and weight and 50%ile in head circumference.
At 2 months (8 1/2 weeks) she is 12 lb. 11 oz. :-)
She also had her shots today. Poor thing. Two shots in her right leg

ISIS / PIS comparison by
Stephanie and Tim
ANyone ever done one? I just used my ISIS for the first time. I got 1 ounce
out of my right breast at 1:00pm. This is an UNHEARD OF amount for my right
at this time of day. Usually I get drops, if that.
Just curious if anyone else has an experience to share.

Isn't it supposed to get better... by
Cheryl S.
I feel like I am really losing my mind, I am so exhausted. 6 weeks ago
it seemed DS was clearly moving toward sleeping all night. There was
even one night where he only got up once, and only nursed for 5 minutes.
But instead since then things keep getting worse. He has gradually been
getting up...

Isn't it supposed to get better... by

Hi Cheryl,
I've been lurking here for about three years, and I ve been looking
for a good excude to start posting.
My son is almost 17 months old, but at 4 months, he was exactly like Jaden.
He was never the best sleeper, but he made constant progress, and by
three months he was sleeping 5 or...

I saw an article on this 'great' new product in the Irish Independent
Mothers and Babies Supplement today, and all I can say is that I am shocked!
There is bf, ff and then this which is the most uncaring, bad parenting tool
in the world...

it drives me nuts... by

each year, our church has either a women's retreat where they go away

Each year the only restriction placed...

It finally happened by
Melissa
I knew MIL was going to ask the question one of these days, but she finally
did on Sunday. "So, Melissa," she says on Sunday, "how long are you going to
bf DD?" I laughed and told her that the proper answer was until she started
college. Then I assured her that we were planning on weaning soon...

It WAS mastitis by
oregonchick
I finally went to the urgent care clinic today because I just wasn't getting
any better. Sat there for over 3 hrs, but it was worth it, because I was
diagnosed with mastitis that would have abcessed without antibiotics
(according to the doc). I got a prescription for keflex (sp?) and should...

It's a bit too early for me but.. ( nipple confusion) by

What are alternatives to a bottle/nipple for a newborn? When we ask
the nursery nurses to avoid artificial nipples and use something else
(?) Should I buy these and take them with me when I go into labor?
If the baby doesn't poop within 24 hours after birth, is it dangerous
and does the baby have...
