Toddler sized duvet/down comforter in the US by
cjra
Does such a thing exist in the US? I can only find comforters that are
sort of cotten quilts, not down duvets. When I see things called
'duvet' they're usually just what I'd call a comforter - lighter,
cotten rather than down filled.
We don't need anything outrageous, as it only gets cold for a...

(x-posted) Dishwasher recommendation needed please... by
[email protected]
We need to buy a new dishwasher. It's a family of four and we use it
every day. Up until now we never had to buy one new. We always used
whatever came with the apartment or house and as you know the builders
buy the one with bare minimum features.
Since there are a few dozens of models out there,...

Little Dude got born by
Akuvikate
Short version: Little Dude was born on March 19 at 8:53am. He weighed
9lb 12oz and was three and a half weeks before his due date, making
him a little bit premature. He's doing very well now, but is stuck in
the NICU for a few more days under observation because the first day
or two he did some...

baby burp problems by
Greg R
We have a nearly 3 month old baby (just shy of 13oz.) at home that
REFUSES to burp. It does not matter if he's breatfeeding or using the
bottle, the same issue persists. While using the bottle (Dr. Brown
with level 2 nipple), he starts to squirm after 1oz of milk. We
attempt to burp him for...

Is this alright?? by
xkatx
I have a friend that does a number of questionable things... in the past and
now.
Right now, it's potty training. Her DS is almost the same age as my DD1 -
he'll be 3 in September. She's doing the potty training thing. He will pee
all the time on the potty. He can go a full day in underwear...

eyelash by
Stephanie[_2_]
My 4yo daughter has very shortened eyelashes. My MIL first noticed it. My
MIL and FIL then proceeded to question (maybe grill?) her about it. She told
them a bunch of stuff, none of it sounds terribly real. MIL and FIL are
convinced that they were cut. (That is scary to me that someone might...

Another question about funerals/death, by me. by
Kat
My uncle died this morning, so now I have a funeral to go to.
This was an uncle that I was always very, very close to.
He ended up in the hospital (again) almost 3 weeks ago. His health has been
horrible for a couple of years now, actually. Bad diabetic (insulin
dependant 3 or 4 times a day,...

room heater by
[email protected]
For some weird reason my kids' room is much colder than the rest of
the house. We are thinking of buying a room heater. Anything specific
to look for or are all models the same? It's a medium sized room about
11x13 ft.
Thanks.

Barbara (Circe) is out of ICU by
Katie Jaques
Barbara was moved from the makeshift overflow ICU at Grossmont
Hospital (it's really their surgical recovery room) to a regular
hospital room after midnight last night. She is disconnected from all
the tubes, IVs, etc. and is able to be up and around. I came home
after she was settled in, about...

I'd say they are playing around. My four year old kisses me fiercely -

"Bad Girl!!!" by

Jessica has a new habit of saying "bad girl" all the time as a joke. She
has never heard those words from myself or from my husband; I have a major
problem with that particular phrase. It turns out that the other little girl
at Jessica's daycare says things like "bad girl" and "shut up" all the...

article forwarded by a friend - what do you think? by
H Schinske
"Our culture no longer offers what children need to truly thrive. While happy
families were once the norm, more and more we see parents and children rushing
frenetically from one task to another; children whining, bickering, tantruming,
pouting; parents nagging, complaining and trying to ignore...
