book reviews (and I have two heartbeats now!!) by
Mary S.
Thanks for all the book recommendations; they were awesome. I'm still
loving "A Child is Born," but I have to recommend the book "From
Conception To Birth: A Life Unfolds" by Alexander Tsiaras. It's like
CisBorn squared, or cubed -- a large, heavy (coffee-table
size/heft/glossiness) 300-page book...

Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT) and pregnancy by
DeliciousTruffles
Did anyone have this during their pregnancy? It seems I have it. I ended
up in the emergency for most of the day yesterday because my heart all
of the sudden starting beating at 220 bpm. They ended up giving my
adenosine to interrupt it and get it started back to a normal rate.
I'm trying to hunt...

Jill
Ugh! I just found out a friend from out of town who is pregnant with twin
boys and due in April, was put in the hospital recently and will have to
stay there until she gives birth! All I know is, she was having contractions
now. Her twins weight 2 pounds each currently. Anyway I...

heartburn problem again... by
Jill
At 24 weeks I am getting some heartburn, but it's not too frequent or bad
yet. I just get it sometimes. Maybe 2 nights a week at most.
My doctor gave me prescription Zantac (ramitidine 150mg) to use as needed
during the pregnancy. I used it some in the begining to see if it reduced
acid and helped...

late M/S or just plain illness? by
Vicky Bilaniuk
How late can one experience M/S, normally? I guess I would be about
10.5 weeks, now. For two days, I've been feeling a lot more nausea than
normal. I also keep feeling like a cold or sinus infection is coming
on, but things never progress beyond extreme stuffiness (I know that
this is a...

Question about a broken tooth by
Jim's wife
One of my molars broke apart and I am having dentist take care of it
(crown/root canal) in a week or two. But right now it is chipped and the
big silver filling is exposed. Once in a while I can feel another piece of
tooth chipping away. Hole getting bigger. There is a funny taste in...

Rhythm Method question (x-posted mkp/mkb) by
CY
I am breastfeeding my almost 2 yr old daughter (though, obviously, by now
she's not exclusively bf'd) and I have a quick question for those of you who
are more familiar with the Rhythm Method of Birth Control than I probably
am!
AFAIK, you can conceive for only 72 hours per month. Usually around...

What about wild yam during pregnancy? by
Ilse Witch
I took wild yam for the first time this cycle, since I have a relatively
short luteal phase. However, I never expected to get pregnant so quickly
and have no clue whether to stop abruptly, slowly or not at all in taking
it. I digged through the mkp archives and concluded that stopping slowly
is...

25 weeks and feeling tolerable....Question! by
Jill
At 25 weeks, I feel better than I did before 20 weeks. My stomach is bigger
than ever but I don't have that unbearable shortness of breath/panic at not
being to breathe/feeling like something is pushing on my diaphragm. I am
sleeping ok. heartburn is not too bad yet, knock on wood! No more nausea...

The Prenatal Yoga Deck by
Sophie
Has anyone done this, or is anyone doing it?
Apparently it's a box of 50 cards illustrating breathing, sitting, and
meditating poses, and it tells you which ones are okay for each trimester.
Obviously I don't need to be limber for a vaginal birth, but I could do with
being generally more flexible...

The Baby Inside by
I have been saying to my husband lately, that although I am excited to
meet the new'un, I will miss our intimate relationship inside ( where I
am still master ;) and as for getting back an uninteresting belly that
just lies there - bah to that !
I love & wait for every little movement/kick. It...

Glucose number range by
Karen
Just recently had my one hour. I asked the nurse when we were going over
my results for the range the lab uses, as I was curious because of
recent discussion here. I went to a Qwest/Unliab in the SF bay area, and
their range was 65-139 being "normal." I got an 83, by the way!

obscure but possibly useful morning sickness idea by
P Harris
I am not attaching this to any existing thread because (still throwing
up almost daily at 15 weeks, myself) I know how MADDENING it is when
you mention morning sickness and Helpful People chirp up with alleged
cures and make it seem like only a lazy idiot would still be suffering
:-) But then...

If it's a boy, it will be... by
Irene
Marcus Ethan
We finally (?) decided. I think. Dh keeps referring to the baby as
"Gwendolyn or Marcus" and when I mentioned that I'd really like to do
Marcus Ethan to honor my late step-grandfather (and make grandma
happy), he liked that.
Interestingly, I looked back, and that was the most...

I've been having contractions 20 minutes apart since 1:00 pm (it's now

Crib problems by
Naomi Rivkis
Okay, I'm annoyed. We ordered a ChilDesigns Bellmont convertible crib,
which comes with a mattress. We got a ChilDesigns Bellamy
nonconvertible crib which doesn't come with a mattress. The styles are
almost the same, and the mattress doesn't matter *much* since we'd
intended to replace it anyway...

Japanese Weekend? by
Mary S.
Does anyone wear Japanese Weekend maternity clothes? I'm looking online
and am wondering how their sizes run. Pretty close to normal clothes,
do they run small, large?
