Mini-pill, sudden restart of menstration, and drop in feedings questions by
Renee
Hi, I'm mostly a lurker here. I'm on Micronor for birth control and
hadn't had a period since I started the pill last May. My son just
turned one last Friday, so on Monday he started drinking cow's milk at
daycare and continuing to breastfeed in the morning and at night.
Basically, I stopped...

Reintroducing Myself by
Sarah Barnett
Hi,
I lurked here and posted a couple times back in 2002 and 2003. I breastfed
my daughter for 25 months and I'm now 19 weeks pregnant with baby number 2
and hoping to successfully breastfeed this baby as well. I'll probably just
lurk again until this baby makes its appearance and hopefully I...

restarting after extended pump and dump - low milk supply by
kgo7
Hello all,
My DS is five weeks old and I was told by my lactation consultant to
pump and dump while on Levaquin (L3). I happened to mention this to my
pediatrician today, and she said it was fine to go back to
breastfeeding - hooray! I've been pumping and dumping for 10 days, and
my milk supply...

Whitish nipple? by
KD
Greetings folks.
My son is now two weeks old, and after a difficult start we're finally
coming along on the breastfeeding front. I have one nipple that's
somewhat inverted, so it's been more of a challenge to get him latched
on that side, and it's more sensitive and thus more painful.
While it's...

my milk is drying up by
oregonchick
I'm pumping, but probably not often enough. I pump about 3 times during the
day, and up to this point, that was enough. Is it enough to just pump more
often, or do I need to supplement? If I pump more often, how often should I
do it?
I have pumped and bottle fed exclusively for over 4 months...

What's the best way to treat diarrhea -- mine, not the baby's -- while
nursing a newborn? The BRAT diet doesn't seem to be helping.

Medifast by
Carol Ann
Okay, I can't take it any longer. I'm starting Medifast on May 1st (sooner
if the shipment arrives).
I'm going to also continue to breastfeed Morgan to sleep at nite.
I haven't heard anything negative about it.
Any advice??

Help with night weaning by
Rachel
Since birth, my 14 mo DD has been waking between 2 and 4 times a night to
nurse. Three weeks ago I decided it was time to stop nursing her during the
night in the hope that she would start sleeping through. (I am soooo tired.)
For the first few nights if she woke before 1am I offered her water...

sleeping on stomach by
Liz
One of the things I really missed while pregnant was sleeping on my stomach.
Now it's over 6 weeks since DD Louka was born, and the obstetrician checked
the caesar scar and says all is fine, I tried sleeping on my stomach again
for a couple of days. Those two days my breasts did n't seem to fill up...

Hi everyone,
I'm an occasional poster, frequent reader. I should thank you all in
advance for providing such an invaluable resource for nursing mothers.
DD and I share a wonderful nursing relationship. When we recently moved
to Panama, we successfully weaned DD out of the family bed, and cut...

bfing and anemia and/or calcium deficiency by
Brookben
I know I shouldn't even validate this 'concern' with a moments worry,
but is there a link between breastfeeding and anemia? My Mom insists I
look anemic - but I just think she hasn't seen me at a healthy weight
in so long. Since my daughter (4 mos) is sensitive to dairy, my Mom
thinks I will just...

AF affecting supply by

I was wondering whether af affects supply whilst she is actually
visiting, IYKWIM. I have googled and found lots of posts saying there
can be a dip just before AF appears, but nothing about during. DS (9
mths) has for sometime now been feeding one side per session except his
bed time feeds where he...

I went to the gym down the road today to sign up. The man taking care of me
started talking about his 5 month old son (I had both my girls with me) and
he starts going on about what a good sleeper he is. He then tells me how
they started their baby on rice cereal really young. Apparently...

Biting by
Tammy
I came here for advice when DD wasn't gaining weight and received a lot
of help. Skylar is now 8 months old and has her first tooth. It isn't
completely in yet, but it is through the gum. Sometimes when she is
through nursing she will pull up and off and I am scrapped by the
tooth. I think that...
