3.5 month old prefers the bottle--how to get him back to breast? by
amy
Hi,
My 3.5 month old son has lost interest in the breast, I think because
he prefers a bottle. Until a few days ago he was getting a 6oz bottle
of breastmilk once a day in the morning. Now he will only nurse when I
trick him into it while he is sleeping (naps and nighttime). To make
matters more...

Hush little baby... by
Amy
I'm trying to type up a list of lullabies so that I don't have to sit
in the rocking chair and wrack my brain to come up with a song to sing
next. They don't have to be traditional lullabies, just so long as
they're soft and slow and easy to sing...
What songs do you sing to your kids? I like...

Why Not? by
Amy
The thread about solids got me thinking, if the doctor says to start
her on solids at 4 months (as mine did), why not? Is the fact that she
has gained very slowly (didn't regain birth weight until 4 weeks) a
consideration? Choking? I guess I'm just wondering why I should
resist trying cereal...

Aunt Flo's Terrific Timing (LAM question) by
Amy
I'm under some stress (my dad is having quintuple bypass surgery as I
write this), and have been spotting for two days.
Should I expect this to be any kind of regular thing, or is it probably
a one time thing due to stress? I guess my question is, once LAM
stops, in your experience, is that it,...

Why in God's name won't she sleep? by
Amy
I feel like I'm being forced to take part in a sleep-deprivation
experiment.
Yesterday, DD's naps got all screwed up because we were out during the
day, and she just refuses to sleep under any circumstances that are the
slightest bit off her routine, so she napped from roughly 3 until 7,
then was...

OMG, the pain! The pain! by
Amy Austin
Ok, girls, I need serious help...
I'm about 5 weeks pregnant with #2, #1 will be one year old on Thursday
and is not ready to wean, and breastfeeding her HURTS. It hurts as bad
as it did when we first started nursing. I wince every time she
latches on, I suck in my breath and try not to swear...

Remember me? I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on August 10, 2005.
And I'm pregnant again! I just found out this morning. I'm about
four weeks along, and the baby will be due April 7, according to one of
those internet calculators.
I am going to have two babies under two. I am...

Update - nursing and pregnant by
Amy Austin
Well, you all were right (as usual), it's getting easier.
I think I'm right around 8 weeks, and nursing isn't nearly as bad as it
was when I posted about it before. I still catch my breath when she
latches on, but after that it's comfortable, as it was before. Thank
God! She's teething AGAIN...

Hales lookup please! by
Amy M.
Could someone with a copy of Hale's please tell me if Advair (for asthma) is
safe while breastfeeding. My doctor is of no help at all. He's never heard of
Dr. Hale (@@) and thinks the only tool of reference is the PDA! UGH!
Thanks!

Stopping breastfeeding - need "how to" for *MOM* (not child)... by
Amy Ridder
After much consideration, I've decided now's the right time to stop
breastfeeding. Little Steven is now 7 mos, he has been taking formula
as much or more than my milk, and often drinks my milk from a bottle
anyway. Also have a fair amount of my milk stored frozen. So, I'm
not worried so much...

Night nursing and teeth question revisited by
AmyAmy4734
Okay, I should be able to answer my own question, but I have found that I am
beginning to wonder about cause and effects. My older daughter nursed at night
until age 2. At that time, I night weaned her because she had dental caries in
all of her upper teeth. Now, I have a 7 month old who has two...

Ok so I had chicken pox. Then all my kids picked up a bug from school, and I

it's full blown flu. I ache all over I have a high temp, cough, feeling
faint, blah blah, and am finding it so difficult to nurse Kamron. My...

not latching as well after vaccinations. by
Andrea
Kam had his first set of jabs last Friday, and had a high temp for 3 days.
His temp is fine today, but he is very sleepy day and night.
Sometimes when he feeds since the jabs, he wretches when he is going to
latch on and pulls strange unhappy faces. When the other 4 kids had their
vaccinations, I...

Nipple soreness? by
Andrea
Hi,
I fed Kamron for the last time around a week ago. I am not engorged as we
weaned gradually, however today my nipples are very sore! If I brush against
them it is agony!
Is this normal after weaning? I don't remember it being like this with the
other 4...
